Go Yoon Jung and Lee Jae Wook Meet as Naksu and Wook in New Stills for Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow

There is a lot to unpack in the new stills for the upcoming short season 2 of Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow. The female lead role got recast as Go Yoon Jung who returns as the physical form of Naksu, whose soul was in Jung So Min‘s body prior as Mu Deok. Whereas she was a cold assassin prior, this time around Naksu seems like a helpless young girl and also confused, I’m guess she has no memory either of who she is at all or no memory of her time as Mu Deok. Lee Jae Wook now seems like the one trying to piece together all the lose threads left remaining from when the drama ended which was EVERYTHING haha. God that was such a frustrating drama watching experience yet here I am unable to look away when I see new stuff.

  1. I’m disappointed w/ the amnesia story arch especially Given that there’s only 10ep to wrap up. But the poster though, it’s got 2 beautiful model standards right there.

GYJ is quite young looking w/ these stills. The first actress that got let go was a lot younger, I wonder if it’s because the teacher/student wasn’t believable that’s why JSM was bought in for Part1, because clearly that actress can act.

BTW: You had KimJiWon and GoYounJung’s post back to back and they do have similar features. They can play twin.

    • I think the actress first cast in the role of Mudeok was let go probably because the investors did not felt so sure that a drama led by a new actress could succeed, like what happened in the casting of the leading female role for the drama adaptation of “My Sassy Girl”.

  2. Honestly i have mix feeling with this kind of drama’s plot, like in Oh My Ghost (2015 KDrama) i still think that Kang Sun Woo(ML) character fell in love with Shin Soon Ae(SC) despite she in Na Bong Sun(FL) body. Since they (FL&SC) have polar opposit personality. So when Kang Sun Woo ends up with Na Bong Sun because they are the main character, it’s not believable for me.

  3. Nothing in the neew poster, teasers look promising. It’s the opposite, it makes me scared because I don’t think they will be able to conclude the story.

    • Same sentiments. They only have 10 eps in this and are going into it with alot of confusing unfinished storylines. Everything about this is giving me innocent girl with amnesia falling for dark broody vengeful ML vibes – all sorts of bad tropes. I only want to see assassin Naksu. Romance was never the strong part of AOS, not even in S1 with the dry-as-toast nonexistent chemistry between the leads.

  4. I’m Emmanuel from Nigeria, I’ve been following the movie, I love watching Korean movies. I can’t wait to watch the new series…. Amazing story and cast. Very funny also
