Netflix Releases Glorious First Poster and Teaser for Kim Eun Sook’s New Drama The Glory Starring Song Hye Kyo with a December 30th Release

I love EVERYTHING about this first promo for upcoming Netflix K-drama The Glory. It’s glorious, pun intended, in how the poster captivates and the teaser mesmerizes. The poster is a screenshot of the end scene of the teaser, which starts with an embroidery of a branch into a green high heel and branching out into entire entire tree with Song Hye Kyo sitting under it. Her hair is this exquisite bob that frames her face beautifully but she’s dark and narrates “There is no forgiveness, so there is no glory either.” This shit is amazeballs if The Glory as the title is a sarcastic and sardonic smirk that there is none of that here, the bullies that turned Song Hye Kyo into her multi-decade revenge plotting teacher are the first perps but she turns into one herself to exact her revenge. Sometimes you have to fight evil with evil and the one way to sell that kind of story is be no holds barred. I can’t wait when this drama drops on December 30th.

Netflix Releases Glorious First Poster and Teaser for Kim Eun Sook’s New Drama The Glory Starring Song Hye Kyo with a December 30th Release — 17 Comments

  1. I recently watched a movie called Maa and the plot of this drama kind of reminded me of that. That one also has the main lead taking revenge on her bully through their child.

  2. I like the quality of the teaser. I just hope the content and the series is as good as this. Feels nostalgic and old school with the embroidery thing but you can sense the dark and sinister narrative in the background. The color palette is good too.

  3. Sorry if this is posted twice. I like the quality of the teaser. I just hope the content and writing is as good. Feels nostalgic and old school with the embroidery thing with good color palette but you can sense the dark and sinister narrative. SHK’s hair framing that face is sharp and gorgeous. Nice release schedule on Dec.30 so we can binge watch during new year

  4. I love the narration in the end. Her voice is so strong and ready to fight whatever battle there is on the way. Yay, couldn’t be more excited for this drama. I always hope for SHK to have more dark dramas after she has done so many romantic comedy genre in the past. She gets old so she needs to step up her game. Okay, rooting on this drama.

  5. I hope she’ll show better acting in this drama.

Her recent drama “Now We are Breaking Up” was too painfully bland and boring to watch. Her acting looked and felt robotic. She had blank facial expressions, stiff body movements, eyes lacking in depth, and delivered dialogues like she’s reading them straight from the script. I couldn’t believe the director let her finished shooting scenes with a lazy mediocre performance.

  6. Really pretty, but also sort of not what I was imagining. I was expecting something more dramatic and dark. Maybe it will be more of a healing drama where in the course of her attempted revenge, she found peace.

I feel like I sort of want a comedic version of this revenge story. Like if the bullies were rich snobs, the teacher can go after the kids by influencing them to prefer instant coffee and hate expensive meals, to darn their socks, to sort out their recycling, to want to NOT want to be doctors/lawyers, to skip expensive after-school academies, and to support policies that tax the rich so that the money can go to more social services for the poor and underserved.

    • Okay now THIS is a story I could get behind lol. It’s petty, effective and well… doesn’t ruin lives of kinds who has nothing to do with their parents’ behaviour.

  7. The scripwriter and director are both good, and Lee Do Hyun is an actor that delivers, so expectations are high for this drama.

I’m gonna watch it because I’m still curious with Song Hye Kyo’s acting. NWABU bored the heck out of me. I watched it with loads of patience to see if maybe, just maybe in the succeeding episodes there’ll be improvement in SHK’s acting but there was none! She got that frozen face throughout, facial muscles don’t move, like she doesn’t want to appear ugly onscreen or something?? I agree with the previous comment, she’s like a robot or a statue. The fashion backdrop, heavy styling, clothes, shoes, make up and her parade of Fendi bags did nothing for the drama. Even the one night stand, subtle glances and kissing scenes with the ML were not hot LMAO.
