A girl-centric school yard bullying webtoon will be hitting the small screens later this year, with TVING producing the live action version of Pyramid Game. The drama stars Bona as the transfer student that ends up a victim of the school’s pyramid game, a student voted and sanctioned game whereby the student with the lowest popularity votes gets to be bullying by everyone until the next vote comes around. It sounds awful and probably awfully close to some real life bullying situations that exist in South Korean schools. Without supernatural or higher stakes elements this dramas sounds like it will be triggering but may be cathartic to see Bona fight back and try to take down this whole Pyramid Game entirely.
