Okay gurl, just chill your horses and preserve the goodwill. C-actress Ju Jing Yi was seen as the victim in the billing fight in her last drama Sword and Fairy 4 with Chen Zhe Yuan and that was an invaluable impressions helping to defray the complaints about her same flat acting in every drama. Her currently airing drama In Blossom with Liu Xue Yi is actually getting good reviews but it’s all due to guest starring Zheng Hehuizi as the OG female lead before Ju Jing Yi takes over as female lead after the face swap. I do feel back for Ju Jing Yi who is getting no buzz for In Blossom while watching Zheng Hehuizi get all the publicity and praise but honestly it’s all on Ju Jing Yi as Zheng Hehuizi has never broken up in over a decade in the industry and her breakout here is only helping the drama and all Ju Jing Yi needed to do was be a good enough actress to hold the fort for the remainder of the drama’s run. But alas she can’t do that and it’s not Zheng Hehuizi’s fault. But her team is so upset at this scene-stealing that both ladies next drama is also together with Ju Jing Yi as the female lead in C-drama Qian Xiang Yin and her team has requested the production cut Zheng Hehuizi’s scenes as the supporting female lead. I swear Ju Jing Yi’s team is turning her from innocent lamb to the evil wench in one feel swoop if they get their way.
The direction wasn’t proper. They should make ZH act like JJY. Instead ZH has her own personality and mannerism. How are they supposed to make JJY act like ZH. And frankly, there are too many flashback scenes of ZH.
Similarly in Sword and Fairy 4, they try to make Mao Xiao Hui as the most beautiful woman… I mean seriously next to Ju Jing Yi so, is her character supposed to be “ugly”?
I dunno what all these productions teams are trying to do to JJY…I feel sorry for JJY. She isn’t a versatile actress but she is still interesting to watch. But because she is clever at choosing intelligent and sensible, so it’s very easy to like her drama characters. And the plus point is that she is very pretty and has good chemistry with her co stars.
FACEPALM. Cai Wei grew up poor but resilient, rough around the edges but a shining soul – ZH is the one who played the character true-to-life. JJY came in acting as she always done in every single drama with the same makeup and two hair wisps – regardless of the character or situation. The way that JJY plays Cai Wei is like a delicate flower who has never seen the light of day, much less hauls corpses for a living – completely antithetical to who the character is.
This is Acting 101, people.
The thing ab JJY is that she is not willing to suffer or eat some hardship for her role, even if she fell from cliff, she will make sure that she look fresh as she just came out from hair salon,some of her fans say they should just make her play the character from the start so the other actress wont shine her ,LOL and LOL ,who said that the “queen” JJY are willing to sit there and got beaten and whipped while looking dirty with scar
And for her chemistry with her leads is so turned off that MLs look like they are suffering while playing a romance scene with her
or JJY can stop just acting like some modern chinese influencer that traveled back in time that’s completely self aware and constantly trying to look cute/beautiful in every frame. she is literally the same in every drama with no regard to the character’s background. so other actresses are supposed to be dumb down their acting to accommodate her? make it make sense.
But it’s called acting. Why can’t JJY act like ZH? Are you saying she doesn’t have the acting skills to pull it off? Quite frankly, it’s not a matter of acting like ZH or acting like JJY, it should be about acting as Yang Cai Wei. What her character dictates, should be how they act.

To be fair, that’s a good point. If different actresses are playing the same character, there should be some similarities in their mannerisms. I remember Lee Dohyun saying he studied Yoon Sang Hyun very closely during the filming of 18 Again so that he could mimick his mannerisms, but this is an idol c-drama so I guess we can’t expect that sort of effort and seriousness in their acting *shrug* Not saying which actress here should have been the one mimicking the other, but it remains that neither of them bothered to care.
I don’t disagree with this idea but LDH can actually act. JJY would not be able to do it. then you’d be asking ZHHZ to be acting like JJY, which totally doesn’t match the character’s background. another great example of actual acting is Hu Xianxu, who actually mimics Wang Yanlin’s mannerism in Pegasus very well.
Really? Did that happen? Ju Jing Yi is a seasoned idol actress. Her acting style have not improved much. But she still have strong fandom, thus I think she will stay in industry longer.
I really hope Zheng Hehuzi gets her break. She has better acting chops.

This is such unfounded gossip imo. This drama is not produced by Siba so why would they have the power to do so? Rather than her team wanting to cut her screentime, its more like Huanrui wants to since its their drama, and both second and third female leads are from the company. ZHHZ is only the fourth lead.
Like for the current drama. It actually makes sense why second lead has more scenes. But something that annoys me when watching Chinese dramas is when they do indeed over shadow main leads with more side character screen time than the main leads. It almost feels like you get scammed because at times most people watch a drama for the main leads. Seems more like a production and endorsement/investor issue. Also whenever the government steps in and enforces scenes to be cut for some odd reason and the cut out the intimate side for main leads it’s already frustrating. Makes me remember that one drama with Esther yu and zhang bin. I get they want to launch/push or force their actresses/actors into stardom but if it interferes with the story and overall product does that not hinder chances as well.
Very precise description of how I felt about C drama’s secondary characters stealing more screen time. It is a scam! It seems to have happened to many actors including top liuliang, Xiao Zhan’s dramas, The Longest Promise and Sunshine by My Side. It’s so obvious to me the production teams just took great advantage of XZ’s popularity to promote a certain newbie and some supporting nugus in the dramas. Huge disappointment. This is a very shady practice in C-ent.
I can agree only to a point…If Main leads are bland, the supporting cast are important. But no one should over shadow Xiao Zhan or steal his screentime…that is just wrong, I dont even see him enough as it is. 🤣🥰
that ice hockey couple was so boring to watch. i don’t mind a drama that makes use of an ensemble cast rather than a super focus on the leads, but make it fun or interesting. sometimes it just feels so obvious that the secondary characters are being forced down the audience’s throat.
This was bound to happen at some point from the criticism JJY is facing now, it unfortunate for her that her next drama is with the same actress who stole her thunder in a show that we r supposed to see her in a new light as an actress. I wish her well, c ent is not for the faint of heart.

I could not watch the FL for too long without worrying her faked double eyelid stickers will fall off or her faked long eyelashes will get tangled up. That supporting actress with the face scar has better acting and is much more natural than the FL. I am surprised JJY can still score FL roles with her one track acting.
🤣🤣 Funny enough you say that…I always get distracted by the eyelids of female artists…with high res, you can see if the fake lashes is sticked on properly or now…rarely are they well stick on. Mascara is badly applied too.
hahaha… she has lots of PS (her nostrils are of funny shape), so I always wonder why she still needs to put on eyelid stickers.. LOL… Little things like these (like you said on high res screen) are actually very distracting for viewers to truly appreciate her as an actress especially when she cannot act.

I thk JJY is kind of stuck in the same spot many years. I enjoyed her in Legend of Yunxi and felt she had great chemistry with ZZH. Many years have gone but I dont see many worthy characters from her. I just see her in the same makeup and styling with diff character names. Her team isnt giving her the help she needs to expand and improve her acting.
That said I dont thk In blooms is hurting that much. She may not stand out but she isnt negatively affecting the drama. Im still hooked to the story and plot.
I like Zheng He Hui Zi as actress because she is really talented but her opportunities so less. In other hand JJY, she has resources, played as lead for all the time, her acting so-so and stagnant.
For me, JJY seem alike female version of YY, getting roles just because ‘look’
