So this was a weird weekend detour on the K-ent news circuit but looks like there won’t be anything further on this. Kim Sae Ron posted a picture of her and Kim Soo Hyun looking close and probably drunk buzzed on her Instagram story at 1 am before deleting it 23 seconds later. But it was screenshotted and the expected speculation was the two were/are dating. But Kim Soo Hyun fans noted that from his hair this picture was taken some time ago and is not a recent snap. Kim Soo Hyun’s agency released a statement swiftly that Kim Soo Hyun is not dating Kim Sae Ron, this picture was taken in the past when she was part of his agency (but she was dropped last year after her drunk driving scandal), and the agency does not know what Kim Sae Ron is intending by posting this picture. I’m guessing she wants attention and she’s certainly gotten it. It’s still sad to see a promising young actress career derail to this degree.
Attention…as simple as that.
The most amusing part in this news is “deleting it 23 seconds later”. I don’t have an Instagram, but I’m just wondering how they know such an accurate time?😄
I genuinely expected this to blow up badly the way HSH-Hyeri did. But it died quite a quick death thankfully. His agency was quite firm with their statement both on the fact that they have no idea what the intention of posting the photo was and that they will be suing people who spread baseless rumours. They didn’t seem to fear any rebuttal from someone who seems out of control and has nothing to lose. Surprising for Gold Medalist. They are usually trash at PR control LOL. But this is KSH, and frankly, it did look like a regular drunk photo. Anyway glad we are moving from it.
As for Kim Sae Ron, she’s no longer a child. I can’t believe it’s come to this – from one of the most promising child actresses and literally the last co-lead Won Bin worked with. She was such a huge talent. It’s unreal how low she’s reached. I really don’t see a way back for her. It’s sad, but there’s only so much she can blame others or circumstances on…

She did. So sad because DUI is one thing, but she’s made mistakes after mistakes since. No sincerity in her reflection (which is completely necessary in this case). It’s a disaster. I know her agency dropped her, but she doesn’t seem to even have guidance in her life. Even now, she hasn’t said anything about that photo. What a mess KSR has become.
@Butterfly – Your assessment that she has no guidance in her life appears spot-on, from what I know KSR had stage parents and those are never good news for the child. No one could have predicted she’d sink this low, it makes me sad to think of Ajusshi (such an amazing film, it’s in my top 10 of all time in any language)
As for KSH….Queen of Tears just crossed 14 percent ratings for episode 6, it’s shaping up to be his biggest hit since You From Another Star so he and the drama probably going to be perfectly fine. A statement that strong sounds like his agency lawyered up REALLY well.
@Royal We Ahjusshi was and will always be on of the best movies out there. Won Bin’s living in the glory of that movie for well over a decade now loll. I rewatched it a couple of months ago and wondered how KSR was doing. It still shocks me that it’s come to this for her. She has nothing left to lose in terms of her name – she’s lost it all already.
KSH I felt was always going to be just fine. I was expecting drama galore for a couple of days regarding this issue, but in the end, he’s too much of a top star for this to truly impact him. He’s fine. Someone in the previous article was crying about how this “scandal” may impact the drama, his costar, etc, etc, etc. The 3% ratings jump + highest so far is the answer to that.

I dont know how it affected Kim Sae Ron’s life but I do feel pity for her. I really liked her as a young child actress.
It doesn’t help that she has a specific history of staging and lying about pictures (post-DUI her ‘cafe part-timer’ pics when the cafe she claimed to work at didn’t know about her alleged employment at all). That’s much worse than Hyeri-HSH getting emotional and having a silly public spat over a lying man.
She absolutely knew what she was doing by putting up that pic at this time, but it’s not exactly a surprise that people might think she’s just doing for attention in a way that they would not if it was one of her fellow child actresses around the same age posting this.
I believe she could have still bounce back from her DUI incident but that whole fake job fiasco have made the whole public wary about her intention. And now this, I doubt she will ever be able to make a comeback after this. Can’t belive she was a part of the Kim trio and now seeing all this makes me feel bad for her.
The fact that Dispatch has not been successful in capturing any dating photos in his whole career so far tells you he’s extremely careful in protecting his dating activities. This looks like a couple of drunk colleagues taking a selfie at a company gathering. When the pic is brightened and zoomed in you can see there’s an arm rest between them.

I read on pannchoa that she probably did it out of jealousy over KSH posting a pic of himself in the same pose with IU (longtime friend) backstage at her concert?
Dispatch etc can be bought off to prevent leaking dating news/photos, the only couple I’ve known to refuse to admit anything even after having pics of actual dates out was Lee Jongsuk and Park Shin Hye back in 2015.
I’m a skeptic so I think it’s more they got the morning to negotiate and a deal was made…let’s not be naive. the statement though was strong and well written to dispel any doubts. It’s Kim soo hyun here so I don’t doubt that he did what he had to especially with a hit drama running. If its just her wilfulness it’s sad as an attention seeking act. If it’s a couple thingy (ex or current) – good riddance if the other party would rather destroy you. lol
If they were truly a couple, don’t you think she would have a more juicy photo (like kissing or even a peck on the cheek) instead of a two heads together drunk selfie? Do not think too much. Exactly. Plus lets be honest. If this was about money and she had dirt on him, wouldn’t it be more logical to simply negotiate behind the scenes in the first place? I bet there are lots of those type of deals happening weekly. If his agency doesnt settle, then go to dispatch with her story and the proofs. She can paint herself to be the victim, get the publicity, throw him under the bus and potentially even come back.

This and her previous media issues (like posting how hardworking she is at a certain cafe but then cafe denies she’s ever been their staff) really show how she does not have good, sensible adults—both friends and family—around her who can guide and knock sense into her. She really should just say what she wants to say. What’s with the teaser before giving out a statement on something that blew up 2 days ago? What is there to “prepare” exactly if she’s just gonna tell the truth. He was very quick with his statement. She’s either doing it to stay relevant in the news by dragging it out, or trying to give public an impression of her settling with KSH’s side behind the scenes or *actually* settling behind the scenes.
His agency never really said they’d take legal actions against her (and they technically can’t because it was a 20sec “mistake” post). They can’t prove that to be intentional sabotage, so that makes sense. However, depending on what she says, it can get messy. If she tells the truth and it’s that they’ve dated, this scandal will hit him considering she’s very problematic. If they did not date and she lies, I think there’s a huge chance he’s lawyered up and will go after her.
your first paragraph is basically right, she can do damage by just implying there was something to settle for in the first place.
The photograph itself isn’t damning, just implying something (my own insta has drunk selfies with male friends from my college days in the same pose), but it’s hilarious to me that some people online going ‘she’s not yet 25 her brain isn’t developed and she has no impulse control’ while simultaneously implying that KSH is one step away from a criminal for having made a comment about marrying a 21 year old at age 41….when he himself was like 23?24? and taking a picture with her once on a red carpet when she was a child (‘grooming’!).
People really want a reason to be outraged but let’s face it, even if they were dating they were adults at the time and if that’s the real dirt she has he’s going to be fine. The increase in ratings for Queen of Tears is answer enough to how this ‘scandal’ was received by the drama-watching public.

Imagine labelling someone with such a heinous crime and absolutely zilch evidence. Then going around labelling themselves the rational, non emotional people because they separated from the crowd. Whether or not they dated, they were both adults at the time in question. How in the world is it shocking for them to have known each other when KSR was a kid? They are BOTH in the industry for over 15 years. They know the same people, walk in the same circles, work with the same teams. In what, shape, or form does that then indicate any “grooming” if they then *potentially* dated when she was 21?!

Anyway, I was pretty open minded when I first heard the news and wanted to hear both sides. If KSH is guilty of anything worth condemning, I’d be right here doing it. This does look bad,but I’m concerned about her mental health. I pray this doesn’t push her to hurt herself. I agree she should know better aboit posting pictures and drinking. She may never act again but there are other things she can do.
