The drama in question is titled Returning Us (回来的我们 Hui Lai De Wo Men) and appears to have firmed up its two female leads and will be filming shortly. The drama will star Wu Jin Yan and Jiang Shu Ying in a dual female lead role and is described as a thriller type with mystery and melodrama. The plot is being kept under wraps and the drama will be airing on Youku. I’m thrilled for Wu Jin Yan to keep on building the momentum post her The Double comeback and picking a completely new genre for herself is great and Jiang Shu Ying is a very established talented actress and I can see the two just delivery intensity onscreen in whatever the story asks for.

Good choice for her. But C modern dramas are mostly a tiring drag. She seems to fit this kind of role if the script writer and the PD can up their game.
I’ve made a decision to only watch Chinese modern dramas when they’re in certain genres and with 16 episodes at maximum besides checking if they got good Douban’s ratings. China always come out with a bunch of these every year.
Sometimes I do disobey myself and watch something that hooked me into it very strongly somehow outside of these requiremennts.
That will flop. It would have to be exceptionally good to make a dent because there’s little interest in cent for things like these. Not fair but…
I’m not sure about this casting. Jiang Shuying isn’t exactly a charismatic actress. There’s only one hit drama under her filmography but she was overshadowed by her peers and isn’t the reason for the drama’s hit.
