Wang An Yu and Wang Yu Wen’s Modern Multi-decade Romance C-drama Such a Good Love Wraps Run with 6.9 Douban Ratings and Polarizing Reviews
So the Douban opening ratings of 6.9 are on the high side for modern romance C-drama Such a Good Love with Wang An Yu and Wang Yu Wen, which premiered in early April and concluded it’s rather mid reception run. The buzz just wasn’t there for this arthouse drama and the two leads are not high traffic stars, but it was also promising initially for well received promos, visuals, and a different type of modern romance other than workplace or meet cute stories. The set up was about a couple who date, break up, get back together, all through the changing of two decades. The reviews are really mixed, the positive ones praise the realistic romantic frustrations and entanglements while the naysayers find the drama so aggravating and unsatisfying to watch. Guess a strong feedback either way makes for a more memorable drama than one that elicits no emotion from viewers. Check this out if it interests you.
Unless you have super drama like You are my Glory, it will always be polarized with Chinese Netizen. Even the very successful Guardian of Dafeng that surpass 30,000 get polarized review. Like I always say dont ever listen to Chinese Netizen , media or reviewer….just watch if you like it then its good, if not then just drop it.
I loved this one, the “good love” here is first and foremost about love of film…. and howromantic love can fuel beautiful films/dramas, but so can heartbreak. A wonderfully fresh, affecting story told in an awesome time jump way, with some self-parody that breaks the 4th wall. Afterall “such a good love” is a drama about people making a drama called “such a good love”

I love it, and in the same time I can’t finished it yet. It beautifully shoot, and both actor did excellent job, but Wang An Yu is more outstanding. But “happy” part was about 1/3 of drama and I feel like it’s a torture to see them break up again and again.
Wang An Yu is such a great actor. I’ve been searching for other roles he’s played. I found Falling Into You and it’s a marvellous series.
Such a Good Love had fine actors but the FL and second FL roles were very annoying as they were very controlling and manipulative, but I guess that’s testament to their acting abilities. I just like happy endings and was disappointed with the conclusion, otherwise a rather entertaining watch.
i enjoyed his work as 2d lead in Go Go Squid 2: Dt. Appledog’s Time (2021). my first encounter with him was as the ML in Forever Love (2020) when clips of it popped into my youtube feed and i got hooked.
