Jeon Ji Hyun and Lee Min Ho Spotted at Same Brand Event in a Blast From The Legend of the Blue Sea Past
Fantasy romance K-drama The Legend of the Blue Sea was a mid-hit when it aired thanks to top level leads Jeon Ji Hyun and Lee Min Ho along with a different and first time K-drama take on The Little Mermaid romance transplanted to Joseon and present eras. It had more bad than good but surprisingly I enjoyed it more than the quality would merit. I still don’t know why lol, but it was entertaining and the baddies were wonderful to hate on and get their comeuppance. It’s been 8 years since (how time flies!) and this week there was a reunion of sorts for the two leads. Both Jeon Ji Hyun and Lee Min Ho were in attendance at a skincare brand CF event in Seoul, but they were not pictured in the same frame. In terms of reunions I don’t foresee these two working together again but glad that both still have top level busy careers.

These two geezers should have retired long ago. It’s not nice to see their aging faces on screen.
Wow Legend of The Blue Sea probably would’ve been seen as a solid hit if it wasn’t such a packed year. Descendants of the Sun being the juggernaut that it was started things off, Love In The Moonlight happened next, then the year ending with the other juggernaut that was Goblin starting it’s run. Goblin airing within the same time frame as Legend of The Blue Sea didn’t help matters either since it was getting most of the buzz. Even worse, SBS was the network that was originally supposed to air Descendants of the Sun but they dropped it because the setting didn’t allow for product placement. KBS picked it up and the rest is history. Having Legend of the Blue Sea being the follow up drama from My Love From The Star writer Park Ji Eun, bringing Jun Ji Hyun back to work on her drama with Lee Minho as the ML, I’m sure SBS was anticipating the biggest hit of the year. They must have felt it knowing Descendants of The Sun could have been theirs. But they definitely learned their lesson going forward. Lots of hits and solid dramas from the network in the last several years.
I miss those days of big big hits~
How refreshing to see a Korean actress with agency approved pics showing her wrinkles and fine lines. Song Hye Gyo’s agency should take notes.
I agree, but then we have ageist people like glendu above, so I can’t fully blame some actresses if they’re afraid of showing their real faces with some signs of aging. Just sucks that society is so ageist that some celebrities feel the need to edit away any signs of aging
Lee Min-ho looks better and healthier here than he did in the past few months. Good for Jeon Ji-hyun being pretty while allowing herself to show some signs of her age.
TLOBS is a bad but a very entertaining drama lol. The ‘disgusting shit’ is still memorable until now. The only drama that I like LMH
i watched LOTBS with little to no hope as i hate LMH for his bland acting. But during my netflix drought era, that was the only kdrama that caught my attention. ngl I finished that drama thanks to the solid cast lineup(except LMH obviously).
the ost(s) are just crazy, kinda teared up the first time i listened to if only
