This weekend was the 4th annual Blue Dragon Series Awards, the television offshoot of the prestigious Blue Dragon Film Awards, with only online streaming K-dramas and shows eligible. The winners were mostly the same names as the Baeksang Awards two months ago in May, with the differences being some of the Baeksang winners were for cable and terrestrial shows thus not nominated here. When Life Gives You Tangerines took home the Daesang, while Culinary Class Wars was named Best Entertainment Program, a swap of the wins of these two hit programs at the Baeksangs. IU won Best Actress for Tangerines and Joo Ji Hoon continued his streak winning Best Actor for The Trauma Code: Heroes on Code which also won Best Drama. Yeom Hye Ran also won Best Supporting Actress for Tangerines and a surprise win for Lee Kwang Soo in Best Supporting Actor for Karma. Best New Actor went to Choo Young Woo and Kim Min Ha. This basically wraps up the K-ent awards season until fall arrives.
