Supernatural Investigation and Romance C-drama Moonlit Reunion with Xu Kai and Tian Xi Wei Premieres on Tencent August 18th
Oh I am so seated for this! It’s been a rather underwhelming August 2025 so far with C-dramas, I’m watching a few but nothing is as good as I hoped. After the middle of the month comes When Destiny Brings the Demon which I have zero expectations for and the highly anticipated Moonlit Reunion. The drama is confirmed to premiere on Tencent streaming August 18th, starring Xu Kai and Tian Xi Wei as they solve human and supernatural crimes in the period capital city while embarking on a human/demon cat romance. The show color and directorial scheme reminds me of Moonlight Mystique but with less dangly bits of hair and outfits lol. I love Xu Kai and will check out anything he’s in, continuing if the drama narrative and chemistry appeals to me and painlessly dropping if it doesn’t, so let’s hope for the former to end this summer with a bang for my drama watching.

I’m also interested and plan to give a try. The double identity setting like mr. and mrs. smith + male lead is a monk + female lead is a femme fatale + other demon story. I just hope the story is going to be well put together.
