Lee Jong Seok Announces He’s Stepped Down From Starring in Romance K-drama Yi Seob’s Romance

Ooooh, I wonder what happened behind the scenes to lead to this. K-actor Lee Jong Seok and his agency have announced that he’s no longer starring in upcoming K-drama Yi Seob’s Romance, adapted from the same name webtoon and in the shared universe as Casual Lie which is being made into a K-drama starring Lee Joon Hyuk. The reason given is that Lee Jong Seok has been signed on since the inception of this project and very involved with mapping it out, but due to production delays it no longer is workable and conflicts with his other commitments hence he’s stepping down. The female lead remains Choi Yoon Ji and now the production is looking for a new male lead. Cue the hordes of late twenty-something to early thirty-something actors vying for this more high profile drama role.

Casting delays. He was signed on last March or even earlier then the FL was announced this July. Maybe he was expecting the shoot to start around middle of the year and not end. Since he’s also in the mystery drama with Park Ji Hyun.
