Talented and Grown Up Nam Ji Hyun and Yeon Joon Seok Cast in SBS Short Drama Mysterious New Student
Oooooh, I super love this onscreen pairing so gimme, gimme, gimme! Talented grown up child actors Nam Ji Hyun and Yeon Joon Seok have just been cast in an SBS one episode drama Mysterious New Student. She’s been one of my faves ever since stealing every teen role around in Will It Snow For Christmas, Queen Seondeok, Giant, East of Eden, and even as recently as earlier last year in Angel Eyes. She’s fully out grown the child actor role now thanks to last year’s hit weekend drama What’s With the Family, but she doesn’t seem to be in a rush to tackle leading roles left and right. A short drama can yield memorable and challenging roles so it’s very suitable for Nam Ji Hyun’s career choice trajectory. Even better is her leading man being a fellow scene stealing child actor himself in Yeon Joon Seok, he caught my eye as the autistic younger brother in Brilliant Legacy/Shining Inheritance, and also as the younger version of Kim Nam Gil in Shark.
They are going to sizzle up the screen together and I can’t wait to see real actor types paired up together even if it’s just a short drama. Not to mention both have grown up to be so good looking young adults.

The younger brother from Shining Inheritance was him?! Damn. He grew up into a fine-looking man.
He is such a good actor. When I watched Shining Inheritance, he was so convincing in his role that I went to google to see whether they really got an autistic child to act the role.
Had been hopelessly waiting for a breakthrough project from him since blowing me away in Shininh Inheritance but the onmy other project I saw him in was reply 1994. Now I am so haply that he will be in this drama. YEON JOONSUK FIGHTING!
NJH is so pretty in that photo. I didn’t even recognize it was her until you mention the drama she was in. 555 I’m so happy Nam Ji Hyun is back. She grown up to be a pretty young lady. I really do hope in the future she take on more drama and leading role. Would love to see more of her.

I love Nam Ji Hyun of course(thrilled she’s been cast in movies with amazing leads recently), but so thrilled for Yeon Jun Seok to be paired with her. He’s such a brilliant actor, and underrated(not for long, hopefully). I feel like they’ll have wonderful chemistry(they both always do with their costars, especially NJH- she’s been great with Lee Hyun Woo, Yeo Jin Goo, Kim Soo Hyun- all of them, really).
They have a slew of amazing young actors(and child actors). About time they’re put in a well-deserved spotlight. Hope it turns out well for them. Hope No Young Hak and Baek Sung Hyun gets their chance soon too.
NJH is such a good actress. like her cuz she dont do scene were she get rape. just to get more rating for the drama.unlike that girl from i miss you drama.
