I don’t know how In A Good Way keeps packing so much punch with utter ease. Every episode gives me multiple scenes to re-visit, endless discussions to mull over, and infinite squee-worthy looks between the OTP to swoon over. Sometimes I wonder if Kirsten Jen and Lego Lee are falling out of character, especially during the BTS the way they look at each other and joke around has shades of Jia En and Liu Chuan. I’m guessing the teasing and fun times are going to be decreasing for the time being what with the two of them being in a funk right now. The problem with them making up is that the crux of their fight makes it hard to resolve the niggling sensation of awkwardness. They can explain “it’s not you, it’s all me” but that doesn’t mean they can go back to the way they used to interact. And the way they used to interact was very odd as well, a comfortable kind of odd but still something between them points towards more than being casual friends. A new preview for episode 6 is up and shows the kids attending the university Christmas party. I fully expected Ren Wei to show up in something strange and befuddling, but in the preview he’s wearing a bona fide tux! And he looks goooood. He better get Bai Xue to dance with him at least once. Turns out the strange attire comes from Liu Chuan as we see him wearing a baby blue suit. LOL, of course he’s going to look gorgeous in it but I can’t get over the incongruity that Liu Chuan would pick anything in that color family. Jia En, ever the one who wants to keep experiencing new things, wants to attend the dance but worries she’ll be embarrassed if no one dances with her. Her BBS online pal 3631 promises to find her and dance with her. Then we see Liu Chuan waiting outside the dance looking for me her, but based on how pretty dolled up Jia En looks and all the guys staring at her at the dance I think she’ll have no shortage of dance partners. What if poor Liu Chuan is left waiting around and it’s Jia En who doesn’t show up? Ha, that I gotta see. You know, watching always sure of himself Liu Chuan so rattled in episode 5 was pretty rewarding, because one can only peel back his layers by shaking him up first.

Jia En: Very embarrassing.
