Written and Video Preview for Prime Minister and I Episode 10

This is too good not to just come flat out and share – the word “kiss” appears in the written preview for episode 10 of Prime Minister and I. I was flailing like a fish out of water by that alone but the context makes it even better. This is going to be a looooong week waiting for the next episode of PM to drop after two stellar episodes in a row to start off the 2014 drama watching year. Not bad indeed, and coming from one of the few rom-coms these days makes it even better. I don’t think networks will start producing more rom-coms all of a sudden since generally the ratings still remain very low for that genre and even PM is just inching towards the high single digits. What a good rom-com does is capture the effervescence of romance, the tingling happiness of watching love blossom and not worrying about murder, mayhem, revenge, and incurable illness lurking around the corner. PM takes romance and adds layers of wonderful interactions including Da Jung slowly winning over the kids by being herself and taking an interest in their lives rather than some big dramatic gesture that works miracles. Little Man Se is turning out to reflect his daddy Yul, falling for Da Jung and once he does he’s totally invested in her. When Yul went out to wait for Da Jung in episode 8 and saw Man Se already out there waiting, it was such a perfect daddy-son reflection of how they feel about her.

Episode 9 was so amazing because we watched two adults struggle and communicate to try and make sense of their situation and feelings beyond their control. There is no concealing the awkwardness but Da Jung storms right into Yul’s space and refuses to let him keep her out. But she has feelings too and at the end when she started crying because she felt he was tired of her and disliked their situation, how could Yul not hug her brains out to assure her that what he feels is the opposite of that. He’s tired because his heart is being worked over around her. Thankfully the written and video previews indicate that Yul is not going to fight the losing battle within himself and looks to actually express how he really feels to Da Jung. With 8 more episodes left to air this drama clearly isn’t going to make it smooth sailing even if the OTP acknowledges they both want to make their contract marriage into one based on love with the intention to last until death do they part. Hye Joo doesn’t seem a threat and she accepts her own fear of rejection for why she never got a chance with Yul. In Ho cares for Da Jung too much to sacrifice her in his vengeance against Yul nor does he seem the type to cling onto her despite her rejection. It’s Joon Ki who still poses the greatest threat in creating traps to sink Yul’s career and even better if his marriage explodes as well. I really hope he gets a rude wake up call soon and pays for his repeated misdeeds.

Written preview for episode 10:

Da Jung is taken aback by Yul’s embrace and he apologizes and says its all his fault. Yul kisses Da Jung. On the other hand, In Ho finds Joon Ki who set Da Jung up and threatens him. In Ho feels terrible towards Da Jung and keeps wanting to apologize more but Da Jung just smiles at him. In Ho realizes it’s because of Yul and In Ho feels even more anguish. To prepare for the 100th day anniversary of their wedding, Yul makes special preparations……..

In Ho warns Joon Ki that Da Jung is off limits and he just wanted to take down Yul. Joon Ki refuses to play ball that way. Hye Joo reminds Yul that his marriage isn’t officially registered yet and he needs to do so now. At a banquet, Yul sings a song for Da Jung for the 100th day anniversary of their wedding. Hye Joo asks if Joon Ki will stop if she goes to him and he asks why she is doing this. Da Jung asks In Ho to go back to the way they were but he refuses. Yul gives a bouquet of flowers to Da Jung and says he’s laying everything on the line and asking her to be his woman.

  1. OMG!!!!! I hope the last part of the preview is not an imagination of our heroine!!!! I can’t wait the last time I felt like this was Lie to me. The story of lie to me is so bad I stick because of how awesome and gorgeous and amazing the OTP was I hope they’ll have another project again with better story and writers! Aaaaahhhhh I can’t wait for next week!!! I’m reading the blogs that the reason the ratings is low is because of the age difference of the OTP well duh! It’s their lost… It’s a great story and realistic in every possible way and les angsty it show how communication and understanding can avoid misunderstandings especially the unnecessary ones that is not needed or welcome. Thank you Ms. K!

    • I hope the kiss will happen… Last weeks preview shows they will share a kiss under the rain!!! I want to see that!!!

      • That was the imaginary kiss she told Scandal News when she was narrating how they fell in love. 😉

But we’re getting one without thumbs on lips now, hopefully, so we’re covered anyway.

    • I really hope he get a KISS!!!! So excited! Suggestion for Wednesday and Thursday drama??? While waiting for
      Mon- Tuesday?

      • my suggestion is to watch ” you who came from the stars ” technically he’s a centuries old alien and she’s a normal human 😛 but he looks much younger and so she gets her digs in about his age and how he acts like an old fart… there’s a whole bunch of other stuff happening but the central story is the most beautiful one 🙂 give it a chance

  2. Omo! A KISS! waaaah! I don’t know how I can last until Monday. Just thinking about it makes me smile idiotically. Aigoo, this drama occupies too much of my brain space. Love love love

  3. Isn’t Yul’s hairstyle different in the get together? Seems like another fantasy from sequence from Da Jung and I would prefer it that way. Yul getting all mushy isn’t just him at all and it’ll be apt to watch if he now expresses his love in his own way and not be inclined towards cliched routines. Each time till now, any closeness ends with a rebuke from Yul to break the bubble. If this hug leads to a kiss, gosh, this episode needs to be telecast tomorrow , the wait is just too much to handle..

    • I think the singing part is real. People will get suspicious over In Ho still, so it’s best to show the public a celebration. But the flower giving must be a fantasy, yes. Da Jeong would not react in such a girly manner to such a confession and the guy who couldn’t even give her the hairpin just a while back would not suddenly grow wings, kiss or no kiss.

But hey, we’re getting there! 😀

  4. i think i’m falling in love with this couple!!!they’re really sweet.
are u sure they will kiss?i hope it.thanks your recaps.

  5. To celebrate their 100 days, instead of her imagination of him giving her bouquet of flowers…I think it’s him serenade her with a song. Can’t wait! Kiss! Kiss!

  6. Woo…. Exciting. The previews aren’t ever what it really is. I definitely think the flower scene is a fantasy sequence. Just seems so unreal at this point. The singing, I agree is real.

Loving it!!!! I still have a soft spots for rom com. 🙂

  7. On the lips, right? RIGHT?!

    Not the forehead, right?

What would be even better than the lips, though, is he neck, baby!

I don’t think I have ever seen that in a Kdrama, though…Too risqué?

  8. IDk… I think that- 1) Yul late wife never did cheated but was set up like how In Ho and Da Jung was setup and try to escape but lead to the accident 2) They did cheat and got into a accident or 3)In Ho hyung is protecting Yul late wife.
Okay, here goes my 2 cents or POV – In Ho hyung did have a crush on Yul late wife and history is repeating itself because the younger bro (In Ho) ends up liking Yul new wife (Da Jung). And some way or some how that stalker freak Joon Ki will use that against Yul to step down. I think that Joon Ki is not doing his evil villain because of his late sister but because he is greedy that Yul took everything from him. That included the PM seat, causes his sis death, having Hye Joo on his side and of course causing that politic constructions thing that Joon Ki father-in-laws is against.

  9. I am so in love with the OTP!! PM is like the model rom-com. I’m afraid to love a drama this much, but so far I’m still doing my happy dance! XD

  10. I was smiling like crazy in Episodes 8 and 9 and kept saying as I watch, “Dude/Girl, you are so falling for her/him!” 🙂 I was actually hoping that Yul and Da Jung will kiss after the hug. So, totally flipped out (meaning: the act of losing total control due to stress-overload or substance overdose – in this case it’s overload/overdose of Yul and Da Jung sweetness) when I saw the word “kiss” in the written preview. Should we start a kiss count? Is it too much to ask to see them spend the night at the hotel ….to keep the rumour going, you know.

I did not realise the age gap will be such an issue that it would cause local viewers to stay away from this drama. They have no idea what they are missing!! It is a great story and definitely worth watching as the acting and the writing is just awesome.

    • i know I didn’t think this story would be that great way back when it started but it wasn’t even due to reluctance because of age difference there’s a lot of movies with couples with that gap so my reluctance was that yoona has not really impressed me before, now however, I’ll eat my words and gladly. Yoona is doing such a great job so I’m sorry to hear that people actually find the age gap to big to handle.. well blah, it’s not like she’s a minor! and despite Yoona being really young I think she’s playing older which shortens the gap between the couple…

  11. I also agree I think the part were Yul is singing is real and the part with the flower is a fantasy sequence. But I do think there will be a real kiss.
Too bad people aren’t watching because of the age difference which to me makes no sense. I can’t even tell their age difference.
I want it to be Monday already.

  12. But aren’t kisses in kdramas supposed to come as a surprise to the viewers, and generally not mentioned in previews? I dunno, maybe what we’ll get after the hug is just a chaste peck on the cheek, and then we’ll get the real one somewhere towards the end of the episode?

    • I don’t think it will be the final grand kiss, but maybe we’ll get plenty. We can wish. 😛

I think they did it for ratings. They had a good run with New Year’s, this week went well too, so they know this will definitely get more people to come back.

If they lied, they’d piss people off, so while I do expect a rather shy version, I doubt it will be lip-smack ridiculous. A smooth and nice peck is fine at the moment. Pecks can be done well too and this relationship is just beginning, so I’ll take it as long as it’s not a dead fish kiss. Which, if they let both Lee and Yoona do their job, it won’t be.

  13. Kiss…..oh my, how come Monday is so far away, I love this drama and OTP so much, thanks for translating the written preview, I believe it is the first time we actually see the kiss word in a preview.

  14. Things are moving so quickly for the OTP I worry what’s going to happen for the rest of the drama. I’ll enjoy it the happiness while I can though.

  15. cannot wait for monday! it has been awhile since i have been this in love with a series but PM and I has me hook, line and sinker! i have never watched anything on live streaming ismply because i don’t know korean but with this series, i really free up my mon and tues night just so i can sit in front of my computer and watch, squeal and laugh even if i understand not a single word… i really think it is a pity the ratings are not good (though i don’t care bout it but i know good ratings will make the hardworking cast feel rewarded..), they are missing out on such a great story and acting..

  16. I just realized that the second female lead was second lead in Coffee Prince too ! She looks nothing like her former self -very sad :((((. Thank you for the updates on the show

  17. To those who have issues on wide age gap between PM & DY
    PLEASE !grow up!
Is Korean viewers/fans so over the top?
Last I watched “greatest love” full of trepidations and anxiety.
My heart hurted so bad when Dokko Jin and Au Jiange got cyber bullied by notorious fans.
It was just a fictional story but a well written and brought to teality by good acting and directing.
Guess I got to wake up to reality.

    • I have not heard anything about knetizens minding the age gap. At least those watching don’t. It’s international teenage and teenage-minded kyaagirls and kyaaboys who have a problem. They didn’t get a pretty oppa to stare at, or then some “old guy” is touching their eonni (in case of certain Yoona fanatics who shame the otherwise nice fanbase, from what I can tell) so they dislike it.

  18. I absolutely cannot wait for tomorrow as finally Kwon Yul has realised his feelings for Da Jung.
Also cannot wait as my baby Suho has a cameo *squeals* . He ‘s going to be on episodes 10-12
