Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi Still Going Strong with Rumors of Impending Marriage and/or Baby

Who’s tired of the deluge of negative news coming out of K-ent lately? Not to pick on that particular industry but it could use a dating shocker or three right about now to wash away the slime of violence and blackmail and affairs and dodgy car accidents. Last year’s K-ent dating flood appears to have slowed to a trickle by the second half of this year but C-ent also got in on the action last year as well and now is as good a time as any to check in on one of my personal favorite C-ent power couples. Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi overcome a 16-year old age gap and plenty of naysayers to get together after doing three dramas together in Bu Bu Jing Xin, the sequel Bu Bu Jing Qing, and the slapstick but rather endearing period drama The Incisive Great Teacher. They reportedly were just platonic on BBJX, got closer but didn’t cross the line yet in BBJQ, and by the time filming started on Incisive Great Teacher they were already a couple based on set rumors.

Taking three dramas to getogether does wash away most of the worry that the couple is just riding on an emotional high from playing out romantic love story. It’s been almost a year since the couple went public and this summer the Chinese tabloids were all over the two with rumors that they were getting married soon and that Shi Shi is expecting. I do not know if there is any validity to those rumors which started because Shi Shi has been turning down projects and the couple has been seen traveling a lot in China and overseas to Japan. We’ll know if Shi Shi is expecting or not when she starts doing promotions for her upcoming romance drama Sound of the Desert (Da Mo Yao’s drama adaptation) but if either rumor is true then I’ll be lining up with the rest of their shippers to celebrate the happy news. Every time I see them together it just brings a smile to my face, forever all those 4th Prince-Ruo Xi feels.
