Hwang Jung Eum Falls All Over the Place in Latest Stills and Preview for She Was Pretty

I’m already feeling bad for Hwang Jung Eum and the drama She Was Pretty hasn’t even aired yet. I know her (relatively) uglified look is solely for this particular character, but does she have to be so hapless and always staring up at men? In two new sets of drama stills, both featuring Hwang Jung Eum front and center, she’s either falling into park Seo Joon’s arms or on her knees begging her work boss while making a scene. I don’t know why Korean storytellers have to resort to cheap tricks when writing down on her luck female leads.

A lot more reassuring is the latest fourth teaser for the drama, showing a lot more scenes and all the characters interacting. One spoiler revealed in the preview is that Hwang Jung Eum asks her best friend played by Go Joon Hee to pretend to be the grown up version of herself to Park Seo Joon’s character. Ooof, this is so not going to work out for all three of them. I hope Go Joon Hee’s character doesn’t turn bitter bitch in the second half, and can find her own love, because right now she’s pretty cool. Same goes for Choi Siwon’s character who seems super chill and funny.

  1. I could never watch Hwang Jung Eum in a drama no matter how much I tried. Her face bothered me so much that I couldn’t even process my thoughts on anything else. I wonder how she looked like before going under the knife. No hate btw. Just me.

      • I’m not going to comment on the before and after looks, but I just want to ask would you have remembered her face as much if she looked like how she did before? Her face may not be perfect now but it’s memorable. She’s got bucket loads of chemistry with her costars, which is more than I can say for like 85% of the other perfect-faced actresses in the business. Let’s be real…what would you rather watch?

    • The problem isn’t just HJE most k actress and k actors do their nose jobs and their nose keep getting smaller and smaller until it looks off in their face.

HJE did her nose, her eyes surgery turned pretty bad imo, they look puffed and she applies aego sal make up (or she had aego sal plastic surgery) making it pop out even more, she had chin filler implant making her face too V shapped, making it look off again, and etc.

      Before pictures!

      • IKR! Her career is on fire, so she’s doing well at what she loves! There are some (ok one particular person) that elicits the same reaction from me that the person above has.

The thing is I don’t go into every post about the person posting the same comments about how I don’t like their face or how I’m not watching something because of their face when something is posted about them. It’s free speech but is also somewhat rude. At this point, WE GET IT. Let the woman be, damn.

    • Well, at first I couldn’t stand her plastic face. The V jaws kept irritated me. I couldn’t finished Full House 2. But because her acting is very good, I guess right now I am waiting for her next project. I do love her in endless love and kill me heal me. I’ve ever watched her early drama called Person that I loved in 2007. She was a second lead and she was very pretty back then.

Nobody is forcing you to try!You are one insignificant number, maybe we will welcome a comment from you if it talks about flaws in her dramas, her acting etc. But if its all about looks,it’s very shallow! Look beyond what you see!

      • Exactly. Especially when this article has nothing to do with her face and plastic surgery. =_= it’s annoying seeing comments like this pop up just cuz they can express their “hate” somewhere for people to see.

  2. can’t wait for that. it seems light and fun and that’s what i’m looking for now. i had enough with the heavy dramas and complicated plots..i don’t care she’s plastic. i watched 4 dramas of her and i can say she’s one of the best acresses out there. she is never stuck in one role and always does different characters!

  3. I’m so excited for this!! I just noticed the funny actress at the beginning from Secret and Mask…now I’m even more hyped. Please be good!

      • +1 you tell em…

p.s. I would show my face too but I don’t have twitter or IG. haha. I’m old school.

  4. I am so going to watch this. It looks good.
If it turn out bad at some point it’s just going to be another one who eats the poisoned apple. This year has being full of of them.

The people who keep on trashing HJE for her plastic surgeries ignore the fact she is a good actress who is trying to improve just to please their obsessive fascination towards her face.

  5. All these constant talk about HJE’s appearance is so goddamn tiring. Ok you don’t like her face. Ok you don’t like her “overacting”. Ok you can’t watch her in any dramas even if you try. Like who even ask you to watch her dramas anyway and who care if you like her or not. Now leave and stop bringing out the same old tired bs comments dragging her face every f**** time an article about her is posted.

On topic, can’t wait to watch PSJ and HJE’s explosive chemistry on tv again.

    • These suckers have no other topic to bring about every time an article about HJE comes out. Perhaps, that the only weakness they can think of about HJE. She is living a clean life, a very dedicated and professional actor,a role model to many idols who wanted to be like her and most of all a very intelligent person(read all her interviews and you will see her sensibility).Well, probably they cannot stomach their own faces in the mirror that’s why they’r passing it to others. So pathetic!
