Goodness is tvN selling the romantic drama heck out of the upcoming adaptation of Bride of the Water God. There hasn’t been a couple-centric drama teaser that isn’t centered around hitting audiences over the head with oh so much super romantic moments capturing essences of what dramas sell as romance. First came the under the cherry blossom tree in the night, then there was the meeting through a fish tank appropriation from a classic movie scene, and now there is the grassy field with the timely sprinklers that allows the titular water god to show off his power that be. I don’t dislike it, don’t get me wrong I slurp up overt romance like a cat on cream, but that doesn’t mean I’m clueless to being fed obvious koala nip. All that aside, if leads Nam Joo Hyuk and Shin Se Kyung deliver on their characters and project palpable chemistry, then it’s all good with me because they continue to be so easy on the eyes.
Rainy teaser for Bride of the Water God:
This trailer wasn’t so interesting, but I personally loved the scenery and atmosphere in it. Also, totally looking forward to Shin Se Kyung on screen
Too cheesy for my liking. And I am still not sold by Nam Joo Hyuk’s charisma as a leading man for a larger than life character.
His lines delivery sounded so awkward! Plus, the tone he’s using, seems doesn’t fit the narrative
