Posters and Funny Teasers for tvN Time-traveling Doctor Drama Live Up to Your Name with Kim Nam Gil and Kim Ah Joong

This reverse Dr. Jin snuck up on me but the surprise factor totally worked with this one because I’m unexpectedly intrigued with it’s lighthearted teasers when the concept seemed more dramatic and serious. Live Up to Your Name (Deserving of the Name) with Kim Nam Gil and Kim Ah Joong premieres on August 12th on Sat-Sun after Forest of Secrets, boasting the narrative conceit that a renowned Joseon era historical figure doctor Heo Im time-travels forward to the present and finds himself practicing medicine alongside a modern physician played by Kim Ah Joong. So it’s yin versus yang, the synergy of oriental medical practices with modern medical technique and theories, with hopefully the time-traveling bit not involving a fetus-shaped tumor a la Dr. Jin. I forgot this drama was in the works actually but quite like the smirks on the leads faces in the official drama posters along with the drama teasers that play more for laughs than serious drama to come. Plus Kim Nam Gil has his requisite facial hair so it’s all good, lol.

I have the gift of not caring about or trying to make sense of time travel so I love these type dramas. I’m all in on this and just hope it gets picked up. Now that the big three are bundling their dramas on their own platform and DF and Viki are out of the loop, I’m planning on the cable stations to keep me happy.
