Teaser and Confirmed Casting for tvN Drama Byun Hyuk’s Love with Choi Siwon, Kang Sora, and Gong Myung

Hopefully this will be one of tvN‘s solid romantic drama outings rather than one of it’s flat footed fails, for some reason the network is pretty extreme in either direction when it comes to rom-coms. In terns of now confirmed casting for upcoming Byun Hyuk’s Love it’s definitely picked right, scooping up just out of the military idol-actor Choi Siwon for the male lead and pairing him with popular actress Kang Sora. They both have very similar vibes for me, engaging onscreen with presence and fantastic emotional and comedic timing. Joining the two leads will be a recent tvN drama alum Gong Myung, who I watched for the first time in the terrible adaptation of Bride of the Water God and found decent enough to make him one of the cast who fared better in that dud. The network is also digging further back into the alum ranks and Lee Jae Yoon from Another Oh Hae Young has just been added to play Choi Siwon’s older brother in this drama.

Directing Byun Hyuk’s Love is PD Song Hyun Wook of Introverted Boss, Another Oh Hae Young, Super Daddy Yul, and Marriage Not Dating and writing is script is screenwriter Joo Hyun who did Ms. Temper and Nam Jung Gi. This drama airs in October in the Sat-Sun time slot after Live Up to Your Name.

Teaser and Confirmed Casting for tvN Drama Byun Hyuk’s Love with Choi Siwon, Kang Sora, and Gong Myung — 6 Comments

  1. watching Gong Myung in Individualist Jin young. He is really impress me. one of the best mini series this year. if anyone want to try something deep and substance with only 2 episode. his acting in his acting in this series is better.

  2. Happy to see Gong Myung in this drama. He is one of the better new actors.

Also pleased to see Lee Jae Yoon back in another drama.

So far the cast look decent, hopefully the drama will be good.

  3. Ugh.. botwg was so terrible. a drama that was trying too hard to be great but failing miserably. It didn’t help that the male lead was that crap actor Nam Joo Hyuk and that the drama wasted not just potential of the story, but the potential of Im Joo Hwan and Gong Myung. Kang Sora is a good actress, but she oftentimes lacks this extra ’oomph’ in her screen presence. Siwon was alright in She Was Pretty (haven’t seen him in anything else). I actually preferred him to Park seo Joon and his annoying character.
