I like when the male and female lead is announced in the same news week, keeps me from guessing and also feels like the production has got its act together in lining up the right actors. K-actress Jo Boa will be joining Lee Dong Wook in the 2020 fantasy romance K-drama Tale of Gumiho, currently neither is confirmed but it’s fairly certain both will accept. Lee Dong Wook is the titular gumiho, normally a female supernatural nine-tailed fox spirit but here he’s a mountain god deity (foxes live in mountains naturally) turned modern day keeper of city peace. He stops the spirits from the underworld from disrupting the humans and takes them back. Jo Boa will play a dogged and always needs to win news station reporter determined to prove that the gumiho is real and tries to track Lee Dong Wook. Of course they will fall in love. I hope these two have awesome chemistry to make this work.
So, Jo Boa’s drama with Park Hae-jin “Secret” is also dead in the water? Actors taking up new projects is never a good sign…
They finished with a while back but it has no takers just like the Anti-fan drama.
I have confidence that Jo Boa will do a good job (fingers crossed). A lot depends on script, directing and producing. If everything behind the scenes works, then I’m confident both actors will make it sizzle onscreen. Here’s me holding my breath 🙂
Wasn’t expecting it to be her but she will do since she can act and not some pretty vase idol who can’t emote.
Yoo Inna would have been a better pairing…..just thank god it’s not an idol actress.
@juliesean – Two dramas with Yoo In Na is enough for now. And the last one they did together barely made the grade because the script was poor and characters they played was bland. Time to partner with other co-stars.
