I’m getting more and more disenchanted with what to expect in upcoming tvN drama Tale of Gumiho. I just…..really don’t like the sleazy-leaning vibe it’s going for with both male leads playing gumihos in Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum. One looks like he’s on the cover of a paranormal romance novel I can find in the lower shelf of the airport Hudson News and the other is straight up a Korean cosplaying a Eastern European pimp stereotype. Jo Boa is playing it straight since she’s the non-fantasy character as a news journalist but every picture I’ve seen has her sporting this exaggerated expression that borders on constipated. Oh wells, just my impression from stills and posters alone but for fantasy characters in modern times I really liked what A Korean Odyssey did even if the script was a hot burning mess.
