Netflix Unleashes Massive Promo Machine for Zombie Fighting Warrior Princee Jeon Ji Hyun in Upcoming Kingdom: Ashin of the North
This Friday the one shot side-quel to the Netflix hit zombie K-drama Kingdom drops with a warrior princess at the helm in Jeon Ji Hyun. Kingdom: Ashin of the North showcases the genesis of the zombie plant and the zombification of the citizens in Joseon Korea which apparently started in the North before expanding and catching up with the Crown Prince played by Joo Ji Hoon at the start of the first season of Kingdom. The only Kingdom character to show up in Ashin will be Park Byung Eun and I also expect the young actress playing the younger Jeon Ji Hyun is Kim Shi Ah to make an impression if she’s as good as she looks in the previews so far. Netflix is clearly not sitting on this drama, instead expending money and energy to properly promoting it as the series has gotten multiple sets of official poster releases and a string of teasers to now the full trailer dropping. I definitely know which Netflix and chill date I have this weekend lol.

I don’t think Jun Ji Hyun has ever done a sageuk before, but she’s a good actress so I have faith she can pull it off. Frankly, for a role that calls for a charismatic, legit star who can do action, she seems an excellent choice.

Eh, don’t forget Lee Siyoung and her scene stealing action sequence in Sweet Home. Another Korean actress that I would love to see lead in these action packed roles.

JJH always pull of action roles. She has height and skills to carry it. Her last movie smashed bcoz of it. Queen of industry. I m glad she isnt going on hiatus like lee young ae did, when she was at absoulte top after jewel in palace and a big movie. Well she was cf queen like jjh too and never cared about acting when she was Lgs pan asia ambassador. Jjh has same amount of cfs but atleast she came back in 5 years. Despite having money for generations.

I love Jun Ji Hyun and she rocks at action roles, but I wouldn’t agree that she’s the only Korean actress capable of pulling off action. In fact, with a little training almost anyone can do some stunts, but I think we can all agree that apart from Jun Ji Hyun, Ha Ji Won and Bae Doona in particular do them terrifically with that aura that sets them apart from the rest. If I recall correctly Son Ye Jin did some awesome action scenes in her earlier works too; will have to rewatch them one of these days.
