Supernatural Fantasy K-drama Island Confirmed for December 2022 Airing on TVing with Cast of Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo, and Sung Joon

So I didn’t hear much about upcoming K-drama Island after the final casting confirmation earlier this year but it’s apparently been filming/filmed and now has a date and network. The drama will air on streaming platform TVing this December 2022. Starring Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo, and Sung Joon, it’s adapted from the same name manhua with the three leads go up against a powerful antagonist force trying to destroy the world. I thought this drama would air on tvN and get a Netflix simulcast which would definitely broaden exposure but if its on TVing then it will have to be super buzzy to get a broader audience to tune in.

  2. What’s wrong with OCN this year? It supposed to air on OCN not tvN. The last drama I remember came from OCN is Chimera. Now? Later? Why don’t they produce drama anymore?

  5. @Nori, CJ&M decided to focus on TVing at OCN’s expense and to use OCN as the platform for airing those TVing dramas after several months (King of Pigs, Monstrous, and now Rose Mansion were shown on OCN to 0% ratings). I think it’s such a waste of OCN, especially on the heels of the success of The Uncanny Counter, whose second season will now be moving to TVN’s Friday-Saturday slot similar to what happened to Voice Season 4 and Missing Season 2.
