A little over 48 hours after announcing the release of modern romance C-drama She and Her Perfect Husband on October 13th, Tencent announced that it was postponing the drama release now, with no date specified. Fans already noticed it hours before the official announcement when the date of the drama on the landing page went from October 13th to “Please Anticipate”. I have no idea why this happened but there was a tiny furor today over a scene where male lead Xu Kai buries his face in female lead Yang Mi‘s chest in an embrace as he’s sitting and she’s standing over him. After boob grab gate with Zhang Han C-netizens seem to be quite sensitive to any perceived inappropriate touching onscreen, but the scene in question seems written to be expressed as such by the two leads rather than an unnecessary movement to cop a feel. Anyhoo, back to the waiting list it goes this drama.

I must be the only one who is not getting the hype around this drama. For me it feels nothing special just another modern day rom com with older woman younger guy. Is it long awaited come back from some beloved actor/actress? Is the plot anything special? Is the writer/director genius or famous?
looking at the trailer and poster, they have no cemistry tbh. YM is pretty but she looks like his auntie.
That trailer scene of his face buried under her chest look awful, but anything that can pass censorship in China will be a win for the production company! I am just surprised at YM accepting this type of cheap noona-dongsaeng script.

They have been called to account about the faking of LLG data and in general, what they were doing with it. This has affected and will affect all the subsequent dramas. Their data validity also disappeared. What a bunch of morons, trying so hard to make it seem a hit and thus dumping everything else they have.

News about Tencent being asked to account was all over certain Douban groups but you also need access, and Mandarin, to some closed groups that you don’t have.
They broke whatever conditions were imposed the first time and got called in again. This is why they are now airing a nothing drama that will allow them to keep their head down and wait for time to pass. They can’t do a lot of promotion which means any drama that might require it is on hold. So all the big names.

Problems came when tc turned off their view counts and do a sort of heat index like qiyi but blow views of LLTG which ks what tangled their foot with fake data manipulation/watery data with authorities. Just because you fan keep calling out those who have read and heard about this as haters, doesn’t mean they are. There’s so much more things to binge around in cent for normal people then hating on your fave popular drama smh

I just watched a Chinese drama where the female lead character squeezed and rub over the male lead character chest how come the woman can get away with feeling on the male character and it’s taken as a joke. This is a double standard in script writing. The viewer just want to watch dramas

What’s with all the conspiracy theories, if you go the weibo, it is quite clear that with the CCP congress currently on, a drama with two celebrities who have a huge amt of fans and haters and will attract lots of attention and discussion will not be allowed to be broadcast to avoid a distraction. Tencent also does not want to go into trouble because of it thus the delay.
