Well hot diggity what great news to look forward to in 2023 in K-drama land! K-ent is reporting that a new jTBC drama Doctor Slump is courting Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik as the leads and both are likely to confirm. If so it will air in late fall of 2023, a year away but still great news and gives new mommy Park Shin Hye more time to ease herself back into work life. The drama is about two doctors in a slump, she a medical resident who runs away after bullying from her professor doctor destroys her soul, and he a plastic surgeon whose career is in the tank after a medical incident. They were formerly high school classmates and rivals for the number 1 spot and now they find themselves living in the rooftop downtrodden apartment as neighbors, falling in love and healing their slump with the medical profession. If they accept it will be a reunion a decade later after Heirs where they actually had a lot of scenes together but it was always in a group setting.

Love PHS, like the premise, meh about the female lead – hope she can bring it with the chemistry.
Yes for Park Shin Hye., her track record of hit dramas can speak for itself. I am not too keen about Hyung Sik- I only know two of his dramas where he was ML that are popular.
I believe in Park Shin Hye to bring more to the table- she has a better track record of hit dramas where she is the FL( You are beautiful, Heartstrings, The Heirs, Pinocchio, Doctors, Memories of Alhambra) compared to Hyung Sik only having 2 where he is the main male lead and that is with PBY and HYJ.
Hyungsik started way later than park shin Hye and started being a lead only in 2017. He went to the military after that. So obviously his number of dramas will be lesser as a lead. He is also never got criticised for his acting and have good chemistry with almost all his co-stars.

I love him and find most of her dramas good so looking forward to this. I don’t care about her acting or lack of kissing skills but she sure knows how to pick shows I like so hopefully this will also be the case.
Dun like Soundtrack 1 either. Fell asleep twice watching 4 eps. Its that boring. First time watching a drama where PHS has zero chem with the female lead. Han So Hee really does not cut it in the romance genre. She does not spark with the male leads onscreen not even song kang whom she is rumored to be dating off screen then. Hope with park seo joon it can finally spark . Im iffy on park shin hye who holds back on intimate scenes even when she wasnt married. But I will watch this. The writer is good.

Finally! PSH with someone closer to her age and who she can hopefully have chemistry with. I liked her with Hyun Bin but Doctors and that last drama that was a hilarious disaster… she had no chemistry whatsoever with her costar. I have way more hope with this pairing.
I beg to disagree. The reason why Doctors was a big hit with the highest rating of 21% was her chemistry with Kim Rae Won. There was even a remake in Turkey and were hits in Indonesia, the Philippines,etc. Krw was even invited to have a fan meeting in Indonesia.
People are saying she doesn’t have chemistry with LMH are just haters period. Heirs catapulated their popularity and even made these two and even bigger Hallyu stars during that time. Until now, there are still lots of MinShin fandoms out there.
We all have our preferences. Yes, it made them popular but it didn’t bring new things on their career as an actor. I like Shinhye when she challenges herself and when ahe goes out of her comfort zone. When she does that, she shows competence. And yes, she is the veteran actor here.
With Hyungsik, the boy always delivers and do what he is supposed to do with his characters but his filmography isn’t rly interesting enough. I think, if given a good material to work on, he can show he’s capable and dependable as an actor.
My concern here is the writer. The premise is interesting but I hope the execution will be good too.

I am not a fan of PSH but for some reason I can see these two having good chemistry. I’m glad PSH is being paired with a similar age actor too.
Its actually pretty funny see how excited people are on twitter and other social media about this news and how different is the reaction in koala comment section. There are post with almost 100k likes on twitter with people wanting to see this couple so I think it will be a big hit and I hope it will be. Its about time psh to work with people her age. The synopsis remind me so much of flower boy next door, a time kdramas used to be simpler and way more enjoyable to me. I’m not expecting much or anything actually new, I just want to have fun. Its being a while for me when it comes to kdrama.
