First Posters and Teaser for Park Seo Joon and IU’s Sports Comedy Drama Dream Showcases Teamwork Goofiness

Now I kinda understand why this movie didn’t come out late last year before the 2022 World Cup since it’s a soccer feel good movie and having that additional excitement during the time period would have been good. Upcoming sports movie Dream with Park Seo Joon and IU despite the dream (pun intended) pairing seems rather bland in the first teaser. I thought it would be a less hokey Shaolin Soccer with Park Seo Joon coaching a ragtag team of homeless guys for the Homeless World Cup, which setting aside the way problematic premise does lend to the potential for an uplifting story. But I watched the preview and it seems cute enough but feels like one joke dragged out. I have hopes the actual movie is a breezy watch of the sort perfect for a long flight.

  1. The post reminds more a TV show poster than a movie one.

For the movie… the trailer didn’t get me excited to watch it.

  2. I’ll watch anything with Park Seo Joon. Don’t know if Dream will be a good movie of a bluff, but I like the trailer, it shows a lot of comedy. That’s good for me.

    • The premise bothers me a bit since it seems demeaning to the players in the actual Homeless World cup. This is a real event and the players are good athletes, not the butt of a joke. The point is to showcase their dignity and humanity and skill… which this teaser doesn’t seem to do.

Though, I may be missing context because I don’t speak Korean.

  3. Sometimes it’s good to watch “ feel good “ movie …for a change. 😊not heavy dramas all the time. .. just to be entertained 😊
