jTBC Weekend Drama Doctor Cha Breaks 18% in Episode 12 Thanks to Uhm Jung Hwa’s Female Empowerment Story Line and Breakout Male Lead Kim Byung Chul as the Love to Hate Him Bastard Husband

It’s great to see jTBC medical and second chance drama Doctor Cha continuing to increase in ratings, the most recent episode 12 got an impressive 18.493%. Over at SBS, the third season that is Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim 3 has remained steady in the 12%-13% ratings since its premiere three weeks ago and this may be the last season for this drama. Uhm Jung Hwa is of course the heart and soul of Doctor Cha with her housewife going back to being a doctor empowering story line but the biggest buzz has been for male lead Kim Byung Chul playing her arrogant, douchey, cheating, love to hate husband and fellow doctor. It’s weird to say the male lead is a breakout but he’s been the go-to supporting actor for villainous and interesting roles so this really cements his true male lead charisma and acting breadth.

  2. I want to watch because of Kim byung Chul, but I can’t stand waiting each week so I’m currently waiting for this to end first then I’ll binge watching it.

  3. I had planned to wait to watch but couldn’t help myself. I hate having to wait for each episode but this is so good. I just hope she doesn’t stay with the cheater.

  4. Dr. Romantic season 3 is just not cutting in. Too many love lines. Its affecting the momentum of the drama. Have a feeling Kang Eun Kyung subbed out most of the script to her supporting writers to focus on Gyeongsang Creatures cos it just doesnt feel as tight a writing as the last 2 seasons. Doctor Cha in comparison is hilarious and the writing is quite unpredictable. Can understand its crazy high ratings. I am beginning to soften towards her terrible husband too. Eeks

  5. I am still loving Dr. Romantic. It’s like revisiting an old friend. I am one of those who loves the action and drama but is also enjoying the love stories. Hope this is not the last season. Maybe viewers have too much medical dramas over the weekend?

    • Me too, I’m still watching it . I’m also watching Dr Cha , but don’t know why the ratings are high because the story is simple . Only the husband character is hilarious .

  6. Ok. I’ll put this drama on my bucket list. I’m usually not the one for medical drama, especially when the main leads’ storyline involves cheating. But I’ll check it out because of the rating. Similarly for legal drama. I have too many on my plate to watch after taking a several-year hiatus from drama. I’m now watching Extraordinary Attorney Woo and it’s extremely good, way better than I expected. I prolly wouldn’t have even bothered to check it out if Park Eun-bin had not won the prestigious Baeksang. Thanks for all the updates of K-ent.

  7. I want her to divorce her husband and either end up with the doctor who handled her surgery or single and happy. If she stays with her husband that would really ruin the show for me, although his acting is on point because I can’t stand him or his mistress đŸ˜‚
