Okay, this is kinda big news if true. A K-ent report is saying that Song Kang will not attend the 2023 year end SBS Drama Awards. If true this is a big deal because his drama My Demon is one of the bigger buzz dramas of the year even if the ratings was not as big as hoped for, but the two leads are trending are well for their chemistry and are leading the fan votes for Best Couple for the network year end awards. If Song Kang doesn’t attend they will likely not receive it, the drama awards are star and fan service and one needs to attend to receive, like an employee service award. There is no word on why he will not attend if that is indeed what will happen next week, but Song Kang is on the cusp of enlisting for military service and also may also want to skip because the drama isn’t one of the top dramas from the network and may not be up for a lot of awards. Either way fans of the drama are freaking out wanting him to attend with Kim Yoo Jung together.
SBS already responded saying it’s not true and that he’s currently readjusting his schedules. Whether he will be able to attend or not won’t be confirmed until the day of the award. Hopefully he can. Would love to see this beautiful couple on the red carpet.
If I’m not mistaken, he was scheduled for a fan meeting in Japan on the day of the award (scheduled way in advance). The Best Couple voting just started on the 18th, probably not thinking they’ll be voted? KYJ will be the MC that night, couldn’t she accept the award if he couldn’t make it?

I was thinking of the same. It is a fluffy drama and nothing more and on top of that his acting remains the same so, it’s not like he is getting any acting award. They may only get the couple award. So this does seem like his PR doing the thing.

I mean, with the drama’s lack of success beyond trending in internation social media, I wouldn’t attend either if I were him 😂

Seriously?! This isn’t life or death here. If the man chooses to show up or not it shouldn’t have any bearing on the outcome of any voting one way or another. If it does, it’s not worth his or her time to act in My Demon anyway. People need to get a grip on reality. Actors, like everyone else, have lives and responsibilities to themselves other than fans and award shows. Let them live their lives without the pressure.
