So while one is technically right the other one seems more on the moral high ground, and unfortunately it’s the normally bad one. C-drama producer Yu Zheng this week announced his new drama Perfect Match which has a four actress four actor pairing in what is described as a cute period romance comedy. The two main female leads were supposed to be Lu Yu Xiao and Zhu Xu Dan but right before airing is set to begin Zhu Xu Dan reportedly dropped out to accept a drama where she is the female lead. Yu Zheng publicly put her on blast and thanked C-actress Wu Xuan Yi for stepping into the role for her graciousness. Reportedly no contract was signed yet so Zhu Xu Dan technically could still leave but I think stuff like this in the industry gets around and is never a good reputation to have. With that said, Yu Zheng is known for being shady and backstabbing himself so haha I don’t feel bad for him either.
It’s very ungracious of Yu Zheng to blast Zhu Xudan publicly like this when she didn’t break any contract. It’s very common for actors and actresses to decline drama roles despite having expressed verbal interest in them previously because there were better offers out there. Likewise, production crews have also dropped actors and actresses from their roles after verbally promising to give the roles to them, or even worse, dropped them after signing the contract and filming had already started.
In any case, this smells to me like Yu Zheng trying to gain attention for his new drama at the expense of Zhu Xudan. Poor girl.
Yu zheng has a hate list: Zhao Lusi, Deng wei….now Zhu Dan. Any names missing?
By the way, he can’t blame Zhu Dan for grabbing a lead role right?

He’s deliberately milking it to attract attention to his new drama. He always comes up with some kind of PR stunt whenever he starts producing a new drama or when one of his dramas is about to air.
This guy is scum, he likes to pick on young actors because he wants attention!
this guy once shade on zhao lusi because she chose the romance of tiger and rose over his project. little did he know that so called low cost webdrama will change zls career forever. It was a success and lusi shoot to stardom. girl probably still a nugu if she follows YZ 🤣
Another missing name from his hate list: Song Weilong. He froze that poor man’s career for three years.

Sometimes the saying that bad publicity is better than no publicity applies very aptly.
ZXD wasn’t making any waves with her work, now with YZ targeting her, she’s the focus of everyone’s attention and winning people to her side. it’s not all bad. i do pity her, but at the same time, she’s gaining exposure from his criticism, so she might get more opportunities now lol.
Zhu Xudan was like IDGAF attitude LOL. I agree with @Lilith that Yuzheng’s using this to promote Perfect Match. Honestly, I saw some bts pics of the cast’ clothes and it looks tacky. I guess we’ll have to wait and see when they release the edited pics LOL.
No contract has been signed…she can back out and so can Yu Zheng drop her too…I read he even shared text messages between him and her agency who puts the blame on her. No need for that sharing at all…and I bet her agency just said whatever to make Yu Zheng happy. They did not expect the text message to be revealed.
I do not like Zhu Xudan’s project. But I dont think it is fair to expose her for something she did not commit to. There may be more inside story what we do not know that prompt her to make that decision.
Yu Zheng is just using this as he have done before to market his new drama… since his last few dramas have not made any ripple let alone a splash…
If the situation was reversed and he dropped an actor and replaced them when no contract had been signed, he would no doubt insist that he had done nothing wrong. No contract means no fault
I mean it’s Yu Zheng, awful as they come so not even surprised at this stunt to attract hype. Poor girl, she has done nothing wrong.
The man is all kinds of nasty. I’m surprised he still has clout in the industry despite his penchant for nastiness and back door drama. He’s fortunate to have some actors dedicated to him that will put up with any kind of treatment from him like Xu Kai, and Bai Lu. But he shouldn’t expect everyone to do so. And he should learn not to burn his bridges with actors who want to separate from him and his nastiness.
No contract. It’s his fault for not professionally finalizing the role. Blast himself for being a poor negotiator and not attracting actresses to his projects.
Nazha was supposed to be the female lead. Then was replaced by Lu Yuxiao. If I was the second lead like ZXD, I would’ve quit too than be second lead to a newbie like LYX. ZXD should’ve been promoted to first lead and LYX as replacement second if Yu Zheng wanted them both in his show.
between nazha and zxd, i would pick nazha for FL. zxd has not had any breakout roles, thus her popularity is dwindling. nazha hasn’t had any breakout roles either, but her aesthetics beat zxd and she’s been leading for a long time. between lyx and zxd, again i would pick lyx because her popularity is soaring and she’s a decent actress. if i was a producer, i wouldn’t care about seniority, but about popularity, acting skills, and aesthetics.
Yu Zheng acts like those power hungry scheming eunuchs in Chinese ancient dramas.
