This may be an April Fool’s joke but C-ent insiders are saying that the deepest buried BL-novel adapted C-drama may get an air drop this month in April. The drama is a modern story titled Chasing the Light starring Wang An Yu and Fan Cheng Cheng adapted from the novel My Left Shoulder Has You. The novel is about the friendship and gay love between the two male leads, an adopted young man with a chip on his shoulder and a rough street smart dude and is well-liked by the readers of the BL-novel genre. This was filmed years ago when both actors were much less famous but both have recently had C-dramas air that buoyed their career a step so releasing it now may be as good a time as any. Of course the drama will be scrubbed of any BL-elements and it’s unclear whether the streaming only release if it happens will result in a quick U-turn if the authorities get involved.
Wang An Yu should only do modern dramas. He looks so fine here but rather strange looking in costume dramas. What is Fan Cheng Cheng without his sister? Such a basic looking guy meh. And is BL even banned in China? They wouldn’t keep churning them out if it was. What sort of mediaplay even?
Agree. Modern styling seems to suit him much more. There are not many guys who can carry off this hairstyle and still look so handsome.
Please airdrop all episodes like Spirealm. Its useless waiting for the government to lift the ban in China. Better to recoup losses elsewhere rather than wait endlessly.

Question: I don’t watch these BL dramas but do they actually say “I love you”, kiss, get intimate etc? I thought Chinese authorities weren’t keen on the depiction of homosexuality in dramas?

Fan Cheng Cheng is a very lucky guy. He is given so many good support…to be in Running Man such a popular variety show in China… and get to act with Yang Zi in his drama and other opportunities that rare newbies get.
