So Cannes Film Festival is undoubtedly the most famous and prestigious international festival and it’s coming next month in May with the film selections in the various categories announced last week. Chinese stars have routinely attended Cannes but it’s almost always the movie stars, former top actress Fan Bing Bing for example was there every year just for the red carpet fashion show she put on, Tang Wei is there often for her movies being selected whether a C-movie or her K-movies, and Zhang Zi Yi and Gong Li are regular attendees. This year Zhang Zi Yi will be going for sure as her headlining prestige movie She Has No Name directed by Peter Chan will be showing there and it’s her first movie in a few years and her first since her divorce. C-ent is excited because that movie’s supporting actresses Zhao Li Ying and Yang Mi will likely also attend, and recently back on the top shelf same gen actress Tang Yan is a newly minted french brand L’Oreal’s spokesmodel and is likely to attend as well that that brand often brings it’s stars to Cannes for the spotlight. It should be a good red carpet for the C-stars this year.
Heard that Zhao Liying already planned to miss her flight by lying that she can’t make passport on time.
Or, she will blame that YM was bullying her so she refused to attend.
Nobody knows who they are there, nor cares except for zzy. I haven’t seen any particular excitement in China except a few Zhao fans. Anyone can attend Cannes. I mean last year it was Gong Jun. Please.

I believe Zhao Liying’s employees are working like hell this month. They must’ve planned to publish that article for next month’s release, but accidentally published it this month by mistake.
I don’t trust that Zhang Yimou is interested in working with Yang Zi but he might have pretended to be, in order to test Zhao Liying’s power of marketing. As soon as Zhao Liying heard the rumor ZYM wants Yang Zi, her employees immediately work super hard to destroy Yang Zi. As a result, lots of ZLY’s dirty history with men began to re-emerge. Almost all of the men that got deep associations with her were already married, or in a relationship with others, making her very sketchy.
Soon after, it didn’t help that she ran into a problem with the famous screenwriter, Jiang Shengnan (wrote Legend of Miyue).
Not many days later, it didn’t help either, Ma Li also made a speech that satirizes her PR.
