  2. I have decided that I’m going to pretend the last 15 mins of episode 40 didn’t happen, because I’m mad about some things that happened. The pacing was good until the last four episodes. I felt like they should’ve used more time to flush out XH’s story. He reconciled with his grandpa so easily because of one little talk that they couldn’t have before FL came along? Wanning and Shen Yurong definitely stole the show in terms of acting. I hope they get more opportunities in the future!

  3. I found myself immensely enjoying this. It had some beautiful artistic elements, lovely colors and delicately crafted moments. The leads were all great with what they had in my opinion. Wish success for all cast & crew!

  4. I think I’ll keep my eyes on Wang Xing Yue because I don’t have any faves in the 00 line. I like Chen Feiyu but that’s all 😄

    • LOOOOL! It seems that the fever for Wang Xing Yue has already subsided. LMAAAOOOOO! I haven’t seen comments about him for four days on this site. Some horny b*tches used to write empty praise for him but now they seem to have vanished along with their ridiculous desires. LOOOOOL! I knew that would happen and it makes me laugh so hard right now. It seems they already lost their love for his pretty facade with no inner talent. St*pid and brainless ladies, I pity y’all.

      • Wow, you are pathetic. Imagine spending so much energy on a person you don’t know or even like. I wish I had that much spare time.

    • I thought so too. The last 5-6 episodes lost its steam, not sure if it’s due to the 40-episodes and 45min/ep limit, but the subordinates don’t have to die, feels like this drama likes to kill off subordinates. Overall it’s a drama with plenty of flaws but the initial story pacing reined in interest and kept the audience hooked. As for the acting, in contrary to others, I’m reserving some doubts because only the antagonists drew me in with their acting. WXY’s line delivery is good, but his facial expressions feel off on some occasions. Nevertheless, I see potential in him.

      • Of course he has potential, his strong screen presence proves it. No one has commented that he is oscar-worthy. LOL. Li Meng (Princess Wanning) has the most powerful acting for me.

      • I honestly haven’t seen the “flaws” in his facial expressions considering the nature of his character.

      • @Mayo Opinions are subjective anyway. He’s still rather green in this drama to me, but like I’ve said, I see potential in him. If he’s good, he will continue to impress people with other dramas down the road.

      • @Lilith Keep projecting your strong feelings for @Somebody onto me. LMAAAOOO. Let’s go! It’s funny.

    • @Mayo agree. i don’t understand how it can be subjective for facial expressions to be off when there is clearly a character writing (one-dimensional in Duke Su’s case) to adjust to. so if i say his facial expressions were the most intense, no one has the right to contradict me…? there is logic and measurement above all.

      • Seriously, fans like you are pissing me off. You’re going to diminish the positive feelings I have for this guy if you fans continue picking fights with me. I’ve already acknowledged his potential but you can’t force me to say he’s a master in acting when he’s clearly not there yet. Some of his facial expressions in the later episodes ARE off, especially in the non-ultra close-up scenes. I’m being nice here saying opinions are subjective, since you don’t appreciate it, I’ll say it more bluntly – some people, like me, simply have stricter standards for what we consider as good acting. Heck, I even find Sun Li’s acting too methodical and kept reusing the same expressions for different roles, and she’s a veteran actress.

      • @Lilith, if you don’t want, nobody can force you to diminish your positive feelings. Lmao. Are you implying that you are susceptible?

The user comment is valid because subjectivity literally means different points of views, whetever we like them or not🤷‍♀️

You have strict standars, and I can respect it. I’m into good scripts so I’m fine with not wooden acting lol. In the same way, I can see why folks like this actor’s work in The Double. He is not a master yet, but he has the energy.

Your comments are not rude btw.

      • @Lilith it is a very very obnoxious behavior of chinese netizens to believe that any neutral comment is a fight or hate. also to say that they dislike/hate x artists because of their fans is LOW.

      • It is human nature to dislike by association, especially when fans keep arguing with people over small matters such as a neutral opinion of WXY’s acting not being 10 out of 10. People will get annoyed and they will associate this annoyance with WXY’s name. By the way, why do you keep switching names?

      • @Lilith Human nature? LOL. The reason we are a civilization is precisely to try to overcome nature. But since it’s your justification, the fanatics you are complaining about can also be driven by nature, female nature in particular. LOL.

If you can’t separate Wang Xing Yue’s name from his fanatics, there are two negatives. LOL.

Why do you care about me switching names if I don’t even disrespected you? Lmao.

      • Female nature? Please don’t drag other females down for your gege. It’s hypocritical to claim that you weren’t being disrespectful when you ended almost every sentence with a LOL or Lmao. Why are you being so defensive over me pointing out your name switches? Unless you feel embarrassed over getting caught trying to inflate the number of actual fans here?

      • @Lilith Defensive? LOL! I’m having good laughts while you are crying over the “lol or lmao” and the end of my comments. Your skin is thin. Again, I’m entertained by you. Thanks! LOL.

      • @Lilith LMAO! Your mental gymnastics are funny. Yes, female nature. Women tend to being more sentimental for example. You are using the name switching as a falacy, don’t you have factual points? LOL. You wouldn’t even mentioning this I had agree with you. But now it’s convenient for your mental gymnastics! Lmao.

“Don’t drag.” LOL! Then why you are generalizing humans in order to justify the comments towards “my gege”? LOL. Really entertaining 🤣

        Write more, please.

      • @Lilith 😂😂😂

Number of actual fans? Who cares about it? It seems it’s only you. This blog doesn’t means nothing. It’s a none factor for him. It’s funny to piss you off, CCP fans are always like this. LOL.

      • Looks like I hit your nerve 😂 So obsessed with me that you’re camping here to wait for my replies.

@Somebody Is this your long lost twin?

      • @Lilith ROFL I was about to comment on the same thing. Same rabid troll energy

      • @Lilith LOL. I am so entertained, thank you for being the laughter source LOL. Obssesed with you? Maybe because it’s been a long time since I found fun at reading delulu users (like you) comments. I don’t make the rules. That’s why I’m begging you to write more. LMAO. Is @Somebody another user that also has found fun in you? 😱 LOL.

      • @Lilith LMAO. Which nerve could you hit? The nerve that has made me laugh, without a doubt! You are entertaining. LOL. How could I not be obsessed with a user that I find ridiculously funny? LOL. It’s been a while since I’ve laughed like at someone’s comments. I should thank you and ask you to continue writing.

Is @Somebody a user who also laughed at you and that’s why I reminded you of her/him?

      • Not as entertaining as watching you switch multiple names to respond to me and then get so triggered when you got exposed that you had to reply 3 times to me in succession 😂 It’s plain obvious that you had bad blood with me before under other names as your initial replies to me took on a condescending tone out of nowhere. Take a look below, the same obnoxious way of talking filled with LMAOs and LOLs, plus random cries about CCP? You both are practically twins. There aren’t many loonies who love to randomly bring up CCP here.

      • @Coralie I know right? Smh. It’s fun watching these people make a fool of themselves here.

      • @Lilith OMG! Your mental gymnstics are awesome and freaking funny. I need to go for snacks to enjoy your circus more. LOL! I replied to you three times because my comments on this site sometimes doesn’t get posted LMAO. I don’t deny that I like to switching names, I have many alias online, it’s funny to me. If you are smart enough, you can see the icon is even the same LOL. Only a fool would think that there are different users with the same icon (asigned to the email adress). LMAO!

You seem to be affected by user @Somebody and now you are projecting your feelings on me 😂😂😂

Try again because you aren’t having fun, that’s why you were pressed by my “LOL/LMAO.”

CCP triggers you? If you weren’t associated CCP, you weren’t crying this much to the point of believing that I’m embarrassed when I’m not. I’m even begging you to write more because you are FUNNY. You even invited a friend to your circus. LOL.

      • @Lilith Aggresive tone? LOL. Are you crying? How you can have fun with that thin skin? LMAO. @Coralie sorry to dissapoint you but I’m not the user that makes you suffer😔. LOl.

      • @Lyss Lmao you need to work harder on your trolling skills. Be more original 😇

      • @Lyss you are triggered enough, no need to work harder. LOL! That’s why you are still replying to me with unrelated things. I’m SO entertained. LOL. My other comments wasn’t posted yet, it was more funny. LOL.

        🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

      • Glad you are acknowledging that you got triggered. Yes, it’s entertaining seeing you @ yourself. 😂

      • @Lilith LMAO. I did it on purpose so can actually have a decent comeback for me. LOL. I need to extend my fun source, I don’t want you to cry like yesterday 😓 LOL. I hadn’t read your other reply but I’ll answer your entertaining mental gymnastics now: I don’t deny that use different alias on this site, I like to do it. But the funny thing is that the avatar on is the same, only a fool would think that different users can have the same icon asigned to an unique email adress in this site. LMAO. You are triggered to the point of even mentioning unrelated things, lololol. Keep writing, I’m bored. LOL.

      • Yawn, that’s such a lame excuse. And it took you 2 days to think up another pathetic excuse for your name switch? LOL. Oh! Looks like you’re just a more shameless version of @Somebody, transferring your own crying actions onto the other party and constantly repeating the same boring points like a broken record. That’s right~ you’re the fool here, along with a couple others who vehemently denied being the same person when I exposed them back then. 😇

      • @Lyss, I don’t mind your being taken as my double. LMAO. I was having fun, pretty amused by a slew of exchanges between you and the most prominent CCP personas on this site, Lilith & Coralie the duo. LOL. I just don’t have popcorn at hand. Otherwise I’ll write more for you to kill time. LOL.

Nice for ppl to find mental gymnastics always entertaining. 🤣

      • @Somebody Good, you’re finally here. Now you finally have the opportunity to take a good look at this mirror and see the crazy troll image you’ve always had in the eyes of a third person.

      • @Lilith I will proceed to write a laugh in my native language: ¡JA,JA,JA,JA! I couldn’t even be mad at you if you’ve been making me laugh enough.

Pathetic excuses only in your mind that imagines too many scenarios where you are the victim. LOL. The question about changing names you asked me two days ago, why should I have mentioned it randomly? LMAO. Also Koala doesn’t usually approve all comments, the ones I made under other names are included. Even what I wrote yesterday still does not appear in this thread. LOL.

You have no valid point and are desperately looking for something to attack me with and so far it hasn’t worked. If I had agreed with you, you would never have mentioned my various aliases. LOL. You are obsessed with user @Somebody to the point that you project your strong feelings on any user who uses LOL/LMAO.

@Somebody Lilith started thinking too much since I started using LOL or LMAO. God, it’s my fault, sir punish me. I didn’t know expressions to lighten the tone of comments could be someone’s pain.

      • @Lilith just ignore this troll. Their rabid rabies troll behavior is exhausting. They have no life outside the blog. It’s prob some alter ego of Somebody with mental issues

      • Both of you really are birds of a feather, writing long essays and rambling after getting triggered. 😂 If you think LOL and LMAO aren’t condescending and really lighten the tone of comments, I dare you to add them at the end of every sentence every time you chat with other people here. 😇

      • @Lilith & Coralie the CCP duo, I don’t mind being a troll in the eyes of CCP stooges. LOL. LOL or LMAO has different interpretation of user’s intention on English social media, depending on scenarios and atmosphere, not always negative or positive. It’s so amusing ppl like you could be so easily triggered by a mostly amusing internet slang most of the time. LOL. That’s quite a characteristic of CCP personality, oversensitive and overreacting.

Well, I’ve done my short serious lecture about the use of LOL and LMAO. I do think the best way to deal with CCP associates and online lackeys is using amusing tones. LOL.

      • @Lyss, they have typical of oriental mind that’s heavily douched by CCP authoritative ideology. They have a long track records of intolerance of ppl opposing their own opinions regarding Cent, be it factual or just based upon online rumors LOL. In particular this Lilith, she used to be an avid keyboard warrior defending practices and rules set by CCP in China including showbiz. She defended CCP whenever I was critical of the pathetic culture and practice in C-ent obviously influenced under the communists’ regime. This Coralie even once desperately argued with me about the presidential election in the US and tried to influence me to not vote a certain candidate out of blue, one of the signs of CCP behavior to meddle in American politics.

I exposed them bluntly without hesitation. That’s why they consider myself their nemesis. LMAO.

It’s an honor for you to be taken as my double for that sake. LOL.

BTW, are you German? You don’t need to answer me if you don’t want to. Thanks.

      • @Somebody I had already written a reply for this duo but it seems Koala didn’t approve it. LOL.

We were exchanging comments peacefully until @Lilith started her mental gymnastics and thought I used LOL and LMAO to disrespect her. I usually use these laughing expressions to lighten up my comments, especially since there are obnoxious users on this blog who think those who disagree with them want to leave hate or pick a fight. There is no such thing as neutrality for them. LOL.

I had already seen their comments related to CCP, and I didn’t even mention it to attack them. Unlike @Lilith who didn’t know what to use to piss me off. But she needs to try again. LOL. Because all she got out of me was laughter. Then @Coralie joined in and made this show more fun. LOL.

        No, I’m hispanic.

  5. A personality doppelganger of the Double Princess Royal landed in her lunatic mental gym again. LMAO. I just love Wang Xing Yue in the Double even his character wasn’t written with more nuance than other characters. To be able to impress me with such characteristic presence and strong chemistry with everyone else in such short screen time is quite a talent IMO. I don’t mind to trigger a banana going wild in her mental gym again by repeating my wish for him to be next IT actor in C-ent. LOL.

I think 50 eps would have been more appropriate for such a long revenge saga to account for the life stories of so many characters, the main couple and the main antagonists included. The writer had such a wealth of abusive relationships to reveal that covered the worst possible humanity one could absorb in only 40 eps. All the main cast, the leading protagonists and the leading antagonists were all on their journeys to avenge themselves. LOL.
That’s quite intense but also short of breaks for viewers to digest the shockingly hideous revelation and let these horrifying life stories to sink in. I wonder if there were 50 eps like the Untamed, the Double might be able to get my emotional feedback and empathy on the same level as the Untamed.

I have given enough kudos to the acting, including that of those maniac antagonists. I’m still most impressed by the brilliant directing among all. I’d like to watch more of his works going forward.

    • I enjoy watching nuts going banana like these two ingredients are really going delicious together on ice cream. LMAO. You clowns give me quite entertainment today. 😭🤣

Koala is also happy with all the traffic to her site. LOL.

      • @Somebody!!! Moderator seem to have stepped in and remove that vile leech’s message.

      • Why should he impress you exclusively? It’s not like you are the universal truth. You want to impose your tastes and believe that only what you approve of is right, and those who don’t share your personal considerations are wrong. Is that how your brain works? What mental poverty. Lol. There is nothing impressive about Wang Xing Yue as Duke Su, you guys just praise him for his physical attractiveness and you should admit it. Xu Kai would have been a better candidate, at least he is not like Wang Xing Yue who seeks to be the best. How selfish.

      • @HL, Koala did remove a few of banana’s cussing and rant. I wonder if it’s all coming from the same troll using different usernames in disguise cos the writing mannerism was pretty similar. LOL. They all talked like an ex dumped by Wang Xing Yue. LMAO.

      • @aaa, why do you care so much cos I like WXY in the Double? I don’t care if other drama fans like him or not. That’s their business. Where and where did I declare my opinions are the truth of universe? LOL. Those are my personal opinions.

    • Yu Zheng is a talent producers…his projects may not all be great but the good ones are highly recommended. There is another drama currently being filmed by the same writer…Just by the lead casts chosen…I am unsure about it. It is not produced by Yu Zheng….but who knows, it might be good.

    • I’m watching AASOL and TD simultaneously and I’m sure there are two Wang Xing Yue’s in the world hahaha. I can see that he has made an impressive leap with his acting skills.

  6. Pingback:Revenge-era C-drama "The Double," starring Wu Jingyang and Wang Xinyue, ends with sped-up pomp and a satisfying ending - Koala Playground | WORLD NEWS

  7. We’re seeing the birth of a new star!!! Wang Xingyue is a revelation in this role. He is a charisma tornado onscreen. Wowza. The scene of him bloodied up looks like it came straight out of manhua illustration, and the internet is artworking and meme-ing it all over the place.

The actor who plays the ex-husband looks so much like Zhu Yilong I kept getting confused when watching him. Had to actually check the credits to make sure it wasn’t ZYL.

  8. so did 萧衡 die at the end? his 2 favourite subordinates died, and he was surrounded by enemies..hard to imagine he could pull it off in the situation..

    • Nope, he didn’t die. The drama has a happy ending. It’s just director’s style to not show all the petty details in each storyline.

    • logically speaking he should’ve died considering Lu Ji was shot to death by a bunch of archers. It should only take seconds for those same archers to move their aim to Xiao Heng. but you know, invincible main character plot armor. YZ just killed the two sidekicks off to get a reaction out of audiences. doesn’t drive the plot or anything at all.

      • There were many illogical parts in the drama. Almighty heroine outsmarting all her enemies in each step of revenge journey already doesn’t make sense in reality. Another conspicuous example is her archery skills. How often did she get to practice archery after a very brief tutoring from Xiao Hen? Archery is a difficult sport requiring physical strength and a lot of practice like shooting. But look how almighty she was to be able to aim at her ex’s hands precisely at the final critical moment !!!! That’s quite a mighty archer in display. LOL

With all the flaws that don’t make sense, the drama is still considered one of very few interesting C dramas in the books with brilliant directing and entertainment worthy qualities. We want to watch a fun drama that grab our short attention span, not a documentary that is fully logical, factual, but a snoozefest. LOL. I can overlook all the illogical flaws of the Double. This drama gave me so much fun after all and somehow rekindled me faith in C drama. So, I’m only seeing more positive than negative in this drama.

      • Entertainment, fun =/= Illogical. A drama can be both fun and factual, there are many examples. The Double has many good qualities despite the flaws, so it’s unnecesary to only see the good when in fact it already has it lol. @Somebody. I only like the writing of Princess Wanning, the rest characters were decent.

      • @Somebody, XFF’s archery thing I can overlook. It was placed early in the show, and maybe she practices every day but they just don’t show it because it’s stupid to. I can also overlook the whole longwu army listening to a SYR, who is just a scholar, and opening gates for rebel troops who are supposed to not enter the city or else it’s viewed as treason. I can overlook that despite the very obvious fact that SYR is doing something wrong, but they continue to listen to him and were going to kill XH at his command because 軍令如山 (even though it was very obvious SYR is committing treason). All these illogical things at least happened to move the plot forward for an ultimate showdown between our leads and the villain. Killing the sidekicks and leaving XH as the lone man standing against an army in the last 15 minutes though? I see absolutely no purpose besides showing how cool WXY is on the battlefield and just typical YZ shock factor to get people to talk (it worked). I would’ve preferred that battle scene leading to an unrefutable victory and the two sidekicks living.

I still really enjoyed watching this drama, and probably one of the best this year for me. but that doesn’t mean I can’t critique it and dislike parts of it. The last 4-5 eps felt rushed. I could’ve used more story around XH and his arc. so much time that was spent on those two dumb maids early in the show could’ve been better used on XH. Either way, I was introduced to two incredible actors that played Wanning and SYR. Everyone was either good or incredible in the acting department (even the side villains). I’ve also liked WXY since I first saw him in Scent of Time, so I’m glad he’s getting his due.

      • @Jia, I don’t disagree with you though. I just named two obvious cases about the heroine among many flaws. The coup d’état in the final showdown can’t be taken seriously. LOL. That being said, the fun parts of the Double still outweigh those plot holes. Most C dramas made me doze off including very popular hits. I got to finish some although skipping scenes. The Double is decent enough among just a handful of C dramas for me to glue my eyes on screen from the start to the end without fast forwarding. Surely ppl are free to any form of critique. But for me, the Double is one of very very very very few C dramas that I didn’t feel wasting time watching. LOL.

    • People will never look like we want. You want more pounds on him, others may think he should be more skinny. People are not Play-Doh. LOL. I love to watch Xiao Zhan’s vlogs, and when I go down to the comments, there are always users that have mixed opinions regarding his weight. Can’t please everyone 🤷‍♀️

      • I agree with this too! I think this type of comments are only valid in worrisome cases.

      • Anasstassia it’s a never-ending story. What I’ve read so far today:

“He looked the best in The Wolf before the anorexic look.”
“I feel the wind can blow him away sometimes.”
“Did you see how skinny his legs were in Oath of Love?”

I agree, he (and other actors) can’t please every viewer.

      • This is just my personal preference. I do think WXY too thin in the Double. Scrawny looks as Luo Yunxi is unacceptable to me (to offend his fans I’m sure by saying this LOL). I just don’t want WXY on the way to be LYX 2.0.

Personally I like XZ with long hairs during the days shooting movie the Condor Heroes the best while many other always wondered why he looked so chubby? LMAO.

      • @:) sure thing. At least one can’t get taller and the other one shorter. LOL.

  9. But we don’t want a pig.🐖

You are traumatized by Luo Yunxi, so you think everyone is going to look like him. LOL.

    • hahaha. The possibility for him to oink oink should be low. LOL. Yes, I’m traumatized by LYX. He looks unhealthy.

      • The possibility for him to looks as unhealthy as Luo Yun Xi is also low. No 🐷 or 🦴. Lol. By the way, Wang Xing Yue has a good facial structure, most east-asians actors have flattish faces, I like defined features. Even those considered the “most” handsome in China doesn’t have sharp features. They only look gorgeous on custome dramas too. Lol. I need to see if it’s also the same case for this dude.

      • @Somebody I agree. Wang Xing Yue would look even better if he gained a little more weight. I also want to add that there are actors who rely too much on make-up and filters, especially in xianxia productions. Every time I’ve had a crush on an actor who looked handsome in the xianxia genre, I’ve been disappointed to see them in modern dramas where their looks were inferior. I can’t take such fakery seriously. There are Chinese actors whose heads and faces look long and big because their bodies are too thin, they look as if they don’t have good body proportions in relation to their heads. The thinness is not noticeable in ancient dramas because of the layered costumes. Leo Luo is the no. 1. He looks like a bobblehead in modern productions in particular. There are possible bobblehead candidates – I want to mention Mao Zijun, Tan Jianci, Wu Jinyan, Liu Xue Yi, Xiao Zhan, Qiu Tian, Lin Geng Xin, Gong Jun, Zhang Zhehan, Chen Xiao, Bai Lu, Angelababy, Li Yifeng, Lu Han, Ren Jialun. Chinese singer Jack Wang has a long face too but he is bulkier so there is a balance. I prefer South Korean artists in terms of looks to be honest.

    • Even with Wang Xing Yue in the role, there are already people referring to us as delusional because we are supposedly watching an imaginary talent on him. LOL.

      • I hate the ending when 2 of his 2 subordinates died. Ught… why???? Havent watched the ep 40.5 yet but will do.

The last 5 episodes seemed rushed and not as interesting as the first half. But then, still like this drama. Will re run when i have time and have nothing to watch. Still waiting for LYF s2.

WXY is indeed gaining the popularity and fans. Good for him. He deserves it. Ah, also haters. They come barking non stop lol

      • @Yui Judging by the promotional images, I already knew one of them was going to die, but I didn’t expect it to be both. What did it cost them to apply plot armor to all? I found Tong’s death predictable as well.

I was hoping to see a well-written arc for Xiao Heng. I’m not fine with the fact that he had a reconciliation with his grandfather just because his love interest said a couple of words about it. Lol. I wanted more emotions unleashed for Duke Su.

I’m glad he is gaining popularity. I’ve seen a lot of actors in his age group, but he’s one of the few that has a sexy charisma (?)

Regardless of whether they like Wang Xing Yue or not, I don’t understand why it’s hard for them to recognize that the boy has potential lol. No one is asking them to become fans or worship him like he’s a saint. They are only asked to accept reality. Lol.

    • I have a long list of lesser but more popular actors in my imagination. But I won’t spell out who they are to start a fight. LOL.

Although Xiao Hen’s lines and WXY’s screen time fell a bit short, way less than WJY, he did a quality performance with very charismatic presence in each minute he appeared. That’s the talent I appreciate. One rare strength he owns while many other C actors don’t is his VOICE. If this were in the West, only very few C actors would be able to survive fierce competition given how bad they are at their lines. But WXY wouldn’t be among those one fail diction.

      • Even with his gifted voice, he still needs to prove himself in the acting department. His past performances were unmemorable. He has potencial anyways.

      • His prior works did not impress me either, but mainly cos those dramas were boring themselves with bland writing and the directing was typical so-so. All the rising star had one hit drama to start off. I’d consider the Double as WXY’s base rung to climb up his ladder solidifying himself as a leading man. I’ll pay attention to his dramas from now on. I didn’t care about him prior to the Double.

  10. This drama’s BTS are funny to me. There is one in which Wu Jinyan puts the jade on her mouth imitating Wang Xinyue 🤣 but it falls to the ground 😅

  11. The Double was a really fun ride. It’s been a while since I’ve watched a Chinese drama that had me anticipating each upcoming episode this much. I’ve started and stopped way too many. Love Like The Galaxy was probably the last one before The Double aired.
Great chemistry between the leads; WXY had such command in the role that I didn’t see an age gap. He held his own with all the veteran actors as well. Just a solid cast. We got longer episode lengths and a bonus ep on top of it. Wang Xing Yue was already on my watchlist before this drama, but after The Dobule, I’m looking forward to his upcoming projects and his growth as actor even more. He had amazing screen presence and charisma in this role and I hope more strong roles like this come his way. Being 22 gives him ample time to improve as an actor and solidify his lead status. I hope his agency chooses his upcoming projects well and don’t take the same route they’ve taken with other actors on their roster. I think building his rep as a strong actor is more important than being yet another traffic star. This was a great comeback for Wu Jin Yan. I hope she can keep up the momentum with her next projects. I really missed seeing her as a drama lead. I would just love to see a reunion with our villain couple. All their scenes together were riveting; I’d love to see them play romantic leads in a mature romance drama. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a drama OD on a wind machine the way The Double did. Now I’ve have to go check out all the extras.

  12. My gateway to Cdrama and it did not disappoint. Agree that the good outweighs the flaws in this drama. Wang Xing Yue has strong screen presence and chemistry with Wu Jin Yan. He and commanded attention true to Duke Su character. Will keep an eye out on his next projects.
