We’re turning the corner into July 2024 soon but this drama is still weeks away with a scheduled July 22nd premiere on tvN. The network released another poster and a new preview for Serendipity’s Embrace starring Kim So Hyun and Chae Jong Hyeob and I’m still swooning with excitement over how if done right this drama will hit all my needs. These two leads are super cute together and separately and I love the high school era with them already.
Teaser for Serendipity’s Embrace:
I know it’s just seems like a simple romance drama or rom-com on paper, but when I watched the teaser, I just felt like something about it is special. I feel like it’s going to be a warm, sweet, comforting drama for me. And I could feel the chemistry of the leads already! I agree with Koala, I think this drama will hit me in the feels! Definitely seated for this

This is the best KSH drama teaser and poster I’ve seen since School 2015. KSH is made for these first love stories and it’s sad how poorly her career has been handled. She could have done a lot better than the dull scripts and roles she’s been shoehorned into. Her stand out performances till date have been School 2015, Let’s Fight Ghost, Page Turner and River Where the Moon Rises. Her best written drama was Tale of Nokdu. In fact the best scenes for My Lovely Liar were her interactions with the clients and using her power professionally. The rest of the plot was a mess. I’m also going to mention Pure Love and The Last Princess as stand out performances and she needs more movies on her filmography.
I sincerely hope to watch Kim So Hyun with good scripts. I have a big soft spot for her…She is a good actress.
Tale of Nokdu was the last drama I enjoyed when it comes to chemistry, even though she had a very few screentime compared to ML. She and Jang Dong Yoon had great chemistry. From whatever I have seen of this one, I feel like she is gonna have great chemistry with CJH too. I hope story is great too, since it is only 8 episodes, so there won’t be filler scenes.
I don’t like short dramas as a general rule because I feel there isn’t enough time for character development. But the story here sounds simple enough that it might work. Excited for KSH!
I need a cute drama and it looks super cute! I thought the story will be more focused on the present with 8 episodes, there is not time to waste.
i love her in Page Turner. it’s a mini drama, but it’s so good
Now that you’ve mentioned it, her look in this drama (school uniform with her hair in a cute lil bun) reminds me of her look in Page Turner. Such a good 3-episode drama that was, I remembered wanting more episodes of it lol. Hopefully, this new drama will be just as good
At first i am skeptis while reading the premise, but after watching the teaser i think i know why Sohyun choose this drama. I don’t know why from poster and teaser alone give me good feeling.
Like the other commentators I’m excited to FINALLY see KSH in what appears to be a good quality drama with a good quality male lead after a very long time. This looks like it will be an enjoyable, sweet little drama and the 8 episodes should mean the story remains focused rather than wasting time on meaningless subplots.
I am not really a fan of her. Her aura always seems to be moody. I like to see her on something more uplifting. I think she needs an image change a bit. Start with hairstyle ….
You can check out “Bring it on Ghost” if you want to see her bubbly side. She was super cute in that! She also did a mini travel show called “Because this is My First Twenty”, which you can watch on YouTube with English subtitles. I kinda thought the same as you before but those two shows made me see another side of her.
But I agree with you about the hairstyle. I don’t know if she changed stylist because pre-2019, she used to at least try out different hairstyles before. Now her hairstyle is always the same, with the bangs and all, only the length varies. I don’t know why they always style her hair that way. It’s kinda the same case with Margot Robbie, both beautiful women but can look even more beautiful if their hair is styled beautifully, but it’s always just down and flat. And she looks way more beautiful without bangs (i.e. in Love Alarm, River Where the Moon Rises, and Ruler Master of the Mask) or at least side-swept bangs like when she was an MC in Under 19 or her red carpet look in Blue Dragon awards 2018. No idea why they’re always putting bangs on her. I wish they get rid of the bangs already 😭
huge fan of ksh but i have to agree she needs a career overhaul. first, her stylist needs to up her game and actually give her a distinctive aesthetic/styling that suits her body type, coloring, and facial features. she’s already very beautiful but as the other comment said, she can look even more beautiful with the right styling. i don’t know what’s going on with her styling but it’s been super meh recently. even c-list actresses get top-tier styling and makeup compared to her. i know she seems to have a minimalist/simple style, but a good styling can make her look like a million bucks while still retaining her natural, simple style. her outfits recently don’t do her beauty any favors, it’s always the same bangs, hair down, and no-makeup makeup that don’t make her features pop. in this day and age where everyone seems to be online, she also needs to have viral moments, like a stunning red carpet appearance. and then make her do more interviews, variety shows, etc. that shows her personality. many korean household names are popular with the korean gp because they were endearing in variety shows, etc., so ksh can try that route. more social media posts would be great too. i don’t think she even posted a selfie from the recent belotero Vietnam fanmeet she just attended. she needs to connect with her fans more, like she was doing around 2014-2017. back then, she shared a lot with her fans in her socials. and then, pick great scripts, work with actors, writers, and PDs with good credentials, etc. (picking Good Boy as her next project is a step in the right direction and hopefully she doesn’t ruin her momentum by working with rookies again after Good Boy).
and a little media play wouldn’t hurt. her management didn’t capitalize enough from the worldwide success of love alarm, in my opinion.
of course she doesn’t need to do all of that. i’m just saying, if she does want to be a really big name, like han so hee-level, those are things she and her management can do. it’s also okay if she doesn’t really have big ambitions like that and just want to do what she loves, which is acting. i’ll always support whatever she does anyway
