Wow doesn’t begin to process how fast and straight up the ratings are going for tvN Sat-Sun drama Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born. Award winning Kim Tae Ri stars are the titular character and she’s always delivered in ratings and performance wow but this is another level even for her. Episode 4 got 12.726% ratings which triples the 4.844% premiere. Her last tvN drama Twenty Five, Twenty One never hit 12% the highest it got was 11.513% in the finale episode. For comparison, Queen of Tears also broke 12% in its 4th episode so it’s going to be fun to see which drama ends the year as tvN’s biggest hit. It’s probably going to be QoT s9nce that was a 16-episode drama whereas Jeongnyeon is only 12-episodes but still, amazing for the cable network to keep airing hits that makes viewers tune in.

tvN’s having an absolutely fantastic year overall. So many hits this year early on, and they’re really ending with a bang. I think JJH’s new drama replacing JN also has the potential to do very well. As for JN, t’s not that surprising given Kim Tae-ri has yet to falter in a drama. She’s so talented and has the ability to pick great scripts. It’s the perfect combination for success. Actually unlike actors, there are many actress have some unreal ratings record like GHJ, SHK comes to mind. It’s super impressive.
Anyway, QOT broke 20% in episode 12 and stayed there, so it’s not that hard to believe JN can do it too. Then again, it’s also hard to believe Good Partner couldn’t so who knows. Either way it’s an amazing drama and I’m really looking forward to the next episode!
I read Kim Tae-ri spend quite a long time learning this art..But I am unsure. She is truly professional and talented.
