C-actress Ju Jing Yi’s Former Agency Sues Her for Violating Contract But She Counters that Her Contract Expired and There is No Additional Term — 21 Comments

  1. I thought they have settled with each other? I hope there’s a good outcome from this and I hope she had made enough big connections. Otherwise I can see in the long run the company will take revenge and screw her over or sthg. I don’t think the company will let her go that easily either since she’s the biggest moneymaker they have currently.

  2. If she didn’t see or sign, then she didn’t see or sign and if you can’t produce the documents were signed then you really don’t have a case.

  3. Absolutely agree! I don’t like her as an “actress”, but hopefully her fight against Siba will help shine a light on the abusive practices of the industry!
There are too many good actors whose careers are harmed by these agencies. Zheng Yecheng lost years fighting his previous agency. Jeremy Tsui was forced into retirement because the agency just wouldn’t let go even though they have nothing to offer him (except sub-par idol dramas with trainee-actresses as FL).
It is quite funny and sad at the same time how the industry applies very high standards when it comes to the actors’ morality, but turns a conveniently blind eye to the low ethics of these agencies.

    • I’d like to add Shen Yue. Well, actually, all the artists signed under Gongfu Mantra Pictures. This company loves to waste the youth. I hope Shen Yue escapes with no problems.

    • I remember ZYC issue… I’m so glad Zheng ye cheng didn’t quit acting after all the BS his old agency did to him… he is one of the actors I really like and I’m glad he is doing well. He is not as popular as them traffic actors but he has a good reputation, lowkey and his acting is good 👍

    • Very well said and across several industries too. SK as well deals a lot with these sort of agencies. LSG’s recent case was pretty bad. But definitely not as bad as China. I hope she wins and set some sort of precedence.

    • What happened to Zheng Yecheng? I did wonder what happened to him as he gain some traction but then went quiet. His agency froze him?

      • Long story short, his old agency did not pay him properly and did not give him any roles so he end up auditioning for roles and got it but took most of his earnings and during the time of love 020 they took most of his earning after the show got big and he was forced to take on role he did not want to but end up doing it so afterwards he want to terminate his contract and the agency sue him and he end up paying finally separated from them back in 2019 or 2020 or one those years. Someone can correct me on this because it was long time when I heard about it

      • @HL yea he is doing good now at least in my opinion lol. He recently signed with a new agency, before he was self employed with his own studio. I’m Waiting for his drama with tan song yun (rumor to air end of November) and he is currently filming a drama with peng xiao ran so I’m just waiting for his drama.

Regarding JJY, I’m not a fan of her acting but I do hope she win, these agency be screwing artists

  4. I trust JJY with this one. She has 0 scandals regarding her character/personality in her 10 years of career. Her agency isn’t able to dig up any dirt on her so they resorting to underhanded means.

  5. These agencies are trash. Her and so many before her were essentially held hostage to predatory agencies.

I hope she counter sues them once she wins because she absolutely will have a case.

  6. JJY must have been the cash cow for their agency and they’re mad she left and didn’t renew her contract so their trying to tarnish her reputation. You can say a lot about JJY but when it comes to her contracts she doesn’t play any games. I hundred percent believe her.

  7. Dirty tactics by the agency. It’s terrible they would outright lie about a “supplemental” contract that doesn’t exist. I hope JJY sues them right back!
