So this really is happening and with such a long time gap and brand new leads it should feel like a new drama of sorts. Princess Agents 2 is now confirmed and will start filming at the beginning of 2025. It’s titled 楚乔传2：冰湖重生 so just PA2 with the additional title meaning Rebirth From Ice Lake. The leads will be Li Yun Rui and Huang Yang Tian Tian, with the latter having played the younger version of the female lead played by Zhao Li Ying in the original Princess Agents. This will be taking place directly after the ending of PA and will be a continuation of the story with the original lead characters.
So awkward though. Clearly Zhao yi ling is a bit older to continue but it just seems odd to not have the same actors. Oh well hope it goes well for their attempt.
Some dramas just seem to be made for money laundering purposes, like do they really think fans of the drama want this ? Good luck to them thought.
I did enjoy season 1 but hated the ending… this new season 2 does not interest me as yet…but who knows, it may be good. I believe this is the drama that made me like Zhao Liying in those days… Not much now but I really liked her in that drama.
I did enjoy season 1 but hated the ML. He was totally overshadowed by the strong presence of the 2nd ML. Li Yun Rui is a good actor, very promising. I look forward to the sequel. I know nothing about the FL but good replacement for the ML though. LOL.
🤣 Yes..the 2nd lead had so much screentime…I had to check who was the lead character.. But the 2nd lead was cool initially till he became needy which was a huge turn off.

Should’ve gotten Zhao Qing for Chu Qiao and Lin Yi for Yuwen Yue. They look so much like ZLY and LGX and they’re both decent enough at acting to pull it off. Plus Zhao Qing and Lin Yi are only a year apart in age. Huangyang Tiantian is still a literal teenager while Li Yunrui is a grown man, it’s weird.
don’t see the resemblance between Zhao Qing and ZLY at all. and Lin Yi looks better in modern dramas.
I know it’s common for them to do sequels and change the leads but I can’t ever get into the drama because I always compare them to the original leads. I know Zhao Liying and Kenny Lin are older (in defense Kenny has always had an old face) but it won’t take away from the drama. Did the OG leads not want to do it or are they simply can’t afford them?
Zhao liying swore off costume drama after shenli,you do remember how they criticize her for looking older and how bad her make up was.

It’s about time LYR is getting real lead roles. I also wouldn’t mind if he could get a role opposite ZLS and finally get the girl this time. I didn’t watch the Princess Agents, so my brain won’t have to do mental gymnastics to try to get into it like with Ever Night.
The age gap is so weird. HTT is only 17 and isn’t PA a bit mature for her? After the lake scene and YWY returns don’t they get married and it gets really romantic?? Idk how I feel…if she wasn’t so young I would like it but FL is too young for this role.
I don’t see why original cast be in S2. Aren’t that much older. The vibe is different. and we got our s2 in Shenli anyway.
I want to believe this must be budget related or scheduling because the original coupel just performed in The Legend of Shen Li and they look just fine as a pair. If anything the ice bath and escaping death aged them a little, still realistic imo lol. Oh well let’s see how it goes since it’s been a while PA1 was out I’ll just treat it as a new drama. Ahhh the chemistry just won’t be the same
Omg HYTT looks so much ike ZLY. She’s pretty but it just won’t feel the same without the same cast.
I seriously don’t want anyone else other than zhao liying…she portrayed the character, chu qiao, so well!! The emotional scenes..the straight face, cold personality…strong female lead..I can’t imagine someone else doing the role better than her! Even though we got shen li, chu Qiao is chu qiao. I would rather keep myself thinking that there’s no season 2 than watch someone else playing the leads! One of the best part of the drama was the cast but if they’re not here..than I don’t want it! It’s as simple as that. We want the original lead back!!! Huang Yang Tian Tian can play as their daughter, she’s a very good actress..but not chu qiao please! Don’t ruin our favorite drama:(
Idk about the regulation in China but with her only 17y.o, how will they make the romantic scenes? Kiss? Hug? I mean, she’s underage tho. Probably just a peck? And i dont like the idea, this much younger girl needs to romance an adult man. They should cast someone older. Sigh.
Maybe she will do a thumb kissing too… but almost no kissing is not uncommon these days.
I feel like eastern fantasy drama they will create tension but not much intimacy. Or insinuated intimacy. When everyone just wants the intimacy to present but I remember the first season was a lot of tension and there were not that many kiss scenes and then they fell in the lake which sucked because everyone wanted more couple stuff from them. I guess they wanted someone who really resembled her and she was it.
I really liked Li Yun Rui in LLTG, so I’m happy to see him in a lead role. He also kinda looks like Lin Gengxin I guess
