Kim Sun Ho Signs with Fantagio and Shocks K-ent with Reported Very High 2 billion Won Contract — 21 Comments

  1. Is it 2 billion or 20 billion?
About “reclaim his past glory”, I think KSH has chances to it, as he already has 3 future dramas ahead with Suzy, GYJ and Park Gyu Young. And for the past year he made fanmeets overseas.
So if these dramas will be popular I think this money would be quickly paid off.
I’m not his fan, but I think agency knows what they’re doing.

  2. As an actor, he’s clearly better than CEW. So it’s not a weird choice.

He wasn’t well represented when everything happened. So maybe with a better agency, he will be able to regain his past fame or a part of it.

  3. But-but-but… losers from Twitter and people on this site told me his career is over and that he’s not seen as bankable anymore 😱

But seriously, good for him. He’s still clearly a sought-after actor and is still seen as investment-worthy if a big agency like this spent that high of an amount just to secure him. Doesn’t matter how much his loser haters whine about him being “icky” (because God forbid an actor has a less-than-perfect private life that should be none of our business anyway lol), this just proves that he’s still seen as bankable if this big agency thinks he can fill Cha Eun Woo’s role as the moneymaker 🤷🏻‍♀️ Like Sayaris said, he’s a talented actor so good for him. Would much rather see the likes of him, Kim Soo Hyun, etc. being the highest paid actors than some talentless visual lol

    • I am not hater of ksh but seriously I have doubt about his career in domestic market rather than international market. All his next dramas are in ott platform. seriously 2 billion issue I have seen negative views of him in korean site by korean nietzen. No big tv brodcaster like tvn , jtbc has approached him. Let see in future , one thing 100 % sure that his career his saved by international fans of ksh not by domestic Koreans. So when korean people accept him properly that day I believe career his again revive. Whereas I don’t want him
to become next kim hyun joong

      • I was about to say that… he has a future probably more so with international than national. Cause well his scandal rubs knetz the wrong way and it takes them time to forgive and forget especially local investors. It’s been plenty of time now plus it was not like he did not do a project at all. But signing with a new agency like this will get him more proactive. If cha eun woo can get lead roles with his limited acting range than this agency can get this guy somewhere plus he can act circles around the former idol. 🙂 we will see if it pays off.

      • International market is where the major money is at though. The Korean domestic market is too small to reap major profits.

      • @Cool and @Rero
K-netizens who spending their time on internet chronically hating celebrities not representing all koreans, and they’re not majority of audience.
Lee Byun Hoon is a perfect example of that.
The same I can say about international online fans aka haters, they hated Lee Jung Jae for 5 years because of fake rumours, hate posts about him gathered a hundred thousands of likes, and it didn’t affect international popularity of a Squid game.
I think majority of k-drama audience don’t care about their scandals, probably don’t even know about them.
But one thing I agree with, investors depends too much on internet users and whoever they hating today.

    • Please stop embarrassing yourself it’s just 1.3M USD I’m sure CEW is fully booked as actor and cf model both domestic and overseas. I’m in Singapore and he literally model for every brand that exist. From food tech to clothing.subway and recola etc

  4. I’m not his fan, but if I were, I’d be very happy he picked Fantiago over Highzium. For the reasoning tho, I’m a bit perplexed. Cha Eun Woo and Kim Sun Ho are 11 years apart so definitely not the same age bracket. On top of that, they have completely different strengths and polar opposite reasons on why their fans like them. One is known for his looks, the other for his acting so not understanding their reasoning.

Anyway, I do think KSH can reclaim some of his popularity. He is doing a Hong sisters drama with GYJ which is somewhat hyped and he is reuniting with Suzy in a pretty high profile project too. Interestingly, both projects were acquired through his previous agency so they were doing something right.

  5. They probably gave Kim Sun Ho that much because of his ability to hold large scale fanmeet tours which usually include merchandise sales. Cha Eun Woo was holding his in arenas and stadiums, and that revenue will end while he’s enlisted. Not every actor is capable of doing that, and the ones that can are probably under contract with other agencies. Even if Kim Sun Ho’s dramas don’t do well in Korea, they might still do very well in other markets. Fantagio not having any actors or idol groups on deck to make up for the income Cha Eun Woo was bringing is another reason.

  6. 🤣LMAO at the picture of this guy’s unfortunate face next to Cha Eun Woo’s 5 star visuals. Truly highlights how unattractive KSH and his botched nosejob are. Fantagio are an OK agency but I don’t know if they can do much for his career in the long term. Their only real star is Cha Eun Woo and he is only as famous as he is because of his blessed genetics rather than his talent. As a commentator above said I’m surprised he is dumping SALT who stuck with him through his scandal and have managed to get him high profile projects with top female actresses post-hiatus.

I agree KSH with others he will definitely make this agency $$$$ from the fanmeetings with those SEA girlies. They are rabidly loyal and will stan any male (even trash like toilet Yoochun bully Jisoo and sex trafficker Seungri still have fans over there 🤮) and they seems to be crazy abut this guy for whatever reason.

  7. I knew NOTHING about KSH before QoT. Is he that famous cuz he’s got a lengthy Wiki page as if he’s someone with great accomplishments LOL? People used to recommend me watch Star-up. But the drama is in one of the genres that I most likely dislike. Yet to check it out. No offense to his fans, he creeped me out in QoT LOL, not sure if it’s the acting or his character in the series. He was one of the factors that QoT turned me off. But seeing him cast for Squid Game 2, there may be something in his acting to rave about?

    • @Somebody: Do you maybe have your actors mixed up? They have the same initials but are very different actors. Kim Soo Hyun was in Queen of Tears (also Moon Embracing the Sun, My Love from the Star, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay and is arguably the most popular male drama actor in South Korea.

Kim Sun Ho was the actor in Start-up and this article is about him.

Neither Kim Soo Hyun nor Kim Sun Ho are in Squid Game 2.

      • I think she mean Park Sung Hoon LOL she def know kim soo hyun but maybe not familiar with PSH or Kim Seon Ho hahahaha

      • @ckdramaent: Ah OK! that makes more sense as PSH was in both Queen of Tears and Squid 2 lol

      • Somebody are you on drugs? Sorry if its offend you but what are you writing doesn’t make some sense. Ksh doesn’t not means only kim soo Hyun . The context of article is about kim sun ho. I am sure you will say kim soo Hyun and kim so hyun are one person by your knowledge .you are total confuse person .qot and squid game 2 psh has worked in both drama not ksh lol.

      • Ooops my bad! Yup I was perhaps on high when making the comment LMAO. I actually was referring to the 2nd ML in QoT who’s also cast as a transgender (?) in SG 2. Thanks for the correction. It’s Park Sung Hoon! OMG this actor made me cringe in QoT LOL. BTW, I also got confused with the looks of PSH and Kim Sun Ho. How the heck they looked similar to me!!!! And all these Korean names Park, Kim, Sun-ish, or Ho-ish !!! LOL.

I don’t like Start-up but I’m actually watching Hometown Cha Cha Cha and started to really enjoy it after first few eps.
