Youtube Gossip Site Alleges Top Actor Kim Soo Hyun and Late Actress Kim Sae Ron Dated for Six Years Starting When She was 15 Years Old
Well this may be the biggest scandal of 2025 in the making, if true and goodness so much to unpack. Youtube K-ent gossip channel Garo Sero Institute released a video today alleging that top actor Kim Soo Hyun dated late young actress Kim Sae Ron for six years starting when she was 15 years old (16 in Korean age) and he was 27 years old, and the relationship ended in 2021. They got the information reportedly from Kim Sae Ron’s aunt. The story continues that she joined his agency Gold Medalist because of him when at that time many agencies were courting her. Two years after their breakup she got into her drunk driving scandal and the agency paid 700 million won to help with her legal bills and other expenses. She said the agency did not mention anything about repayment. But a year later she got a formal letter for repayment from Gold Medalist and believes it came from Kim Soo Hyun’s cousin who runs the agency. She tried to contact Kim Soo Hyun but he did not respond to her. So she posted the picture of them last year during the airing of Queen of Tears believing it was the only way to get his attention. Kim Sae Ron’s aunt says she has been stressed in the years after the drunk driving incident and this repayment demanded added to it, and the family was very worried about her. Garo Sero Institute also said Gold Medalist colluded with Youtuber Lee Jin Ho to spread negative comments about her during her drunk driving scandal. The channel finished with Kim Sae Ron chose to kill herself on Kim Soo Hyun’s birthday for a reason. In response, Gold Medalist has released a statement claiming it will sue Garo Sero Institute for spreading falsehood and lies, claiming the entire story is not true. Garo Sero Institute has responded back that all of its reporting is true and from Kim Sae Ron’s final words she left a letter and pictures as evidence.

The drunk driving actually happened a few months after their break-up. And with her family background, being bullied in school and groomed in her teens, you can just have sympathy in the way that she coped -drinking and partying it seemed. And then he also had a hand in the messy management of her scandal and likely blocking her comeback (as it is his agency and likely they were scared and wanted to protect him).
The aunt apparently claims the family has lots of pictures to prove their relationship and the youtube channel exposing all this seems to be ready to go to legal war over this with Kim Soo Hyun and his agency. The more I read about this, the more disgusted I feel. Poor Kim Sae Ron.

True. Now before any incel or pick-me comes here replying “B-b-but… Women can be bad too!” Literally nobody is saying that women can’t be bad. I’ve been a young lady at her age before. Sigh, the feels are too real during that age, and given her early introduction to the entertainment world, what a path to tragedy. We will have to wait and see if the Youtuber and her family comes out with the receipts but I would not be at all surprised if it’s true. That picture was very sus and Kim Sae Ron posting that picture at that time definitely felt like a warning shot. However, I did not expect that he might have been involved with her when she was still amminor. That is even more disgusting if true.
It should be a total no-brainer for his agency to go straight to the authorities if this is false so let’s see if they are all talk and no-action.
The red flag would be if his agency tries to hush this up. I like KSH as an actor, but I wouldn’t at all be surprised if some parts of the story is true. You can’t cover smoke with a pot, sooner or later the smoke will get out and people will start to smell it. If this is true, it will be the third time a young female star is brought down by an unethical older man.

I’m going to play devil’s advocate here…. her family were obviously keen for her to be in the industry as she debuted in 2001 (age 1) as a child model and had her first acting role by age 9, was in dramas at age 10, 11, 13 and two when she was 14. Her first “adult” role was at age 16. This means she did not have a ‘normal’ childhood and mixed with adults a lot more than normal. (Having had a childhood myself that was also not ‘normal’ and most of my interactions were with adults I am speaking from experience), this can result in a more worldly appearance with your ability to communicate with adults on topics kids don’t usually talk about. Because of this you will likely come across as a lot older until you kind of grow into yourself in your late teens/early twenties. As Iu mentions above, regardless of a mature outlook, the feelings you have at 15/16 seem like they are bigger than anything else and of course you don’t doubt they are real.
I would therefore hazard a guess that she had a big-time crush on KSH, her change to his company etc., has the feel of a very determined young female, keen to seek her crush out – regularly, in the hope of making her fantasy come true. This may be the reason of photos of them together when she was young. Young women are also quite capable of playing out their fantasy to family and close friends (in other words, making the whole thing up). Assuming the family still supported and desired her public success, they likely supported her pursuing a relationship with a ‘big’ star.
If this perspective is correct, it is more likely that they were acquaintances, that with a young woman’s determination could have become talking acquaintances that attended get togethers due to being in the same agency/similiar networks/knowing the same people so it looked like they hung out together on occasion. This could have resulted in some photos that can be misconstrued.
She changed to KSH’s agency when she was 20. Perhaps they started dating (a young woman consistently throwing herself at a man can be hard for the man to resist), or perhaps she was firmly rejected and to a person that still believes in her ‘delusion’, she didn’t take it well – resulting in poor behaviour on her part, leading to the crash, an alcohol fueled birthday party and later her “health” issues. Did she see a psychologist at this time, as she may have needed it?
The fact that the agency shelled out more money in damages for the crash after conclusion of the contract, speaks of an agency that is doing the right thing and may have felt sorry for her, particularly as the crash resulted in her losing a role at the time, and her claims of being broke after paying her fines. Yet in 2024 she withdrew days after being announced of her role in a play due to ‘health’ issues (another indicator that all was not well). The part time job she sought after the accident to help pay bills also didn’t last. Perhaps the company thought she wasn’t sincere in her efforts to pull herself up and thus requested reimbursement of their costs, which, in this scenario, sounds more than fair.
Perhaps her delusions stayed with her, right up to the end, thus wanting to “hurt” him by selecting his birthday to suicide.
Perhaps her family, not wanting to be responsible for her debt, is aiming at KSH as a ‘big’ star for compensation – or perhaps they even believed KSR’s stories/delusions.
Of course, perhaps this is all wrong, but I think its important to consider other perspectives.

I also heard the some of the rumors about him over the years (I’ve been following his career since Dream High), but I merely dismissed it as it was unsubstantiated. However, when KSR posted the picture when she was still alive, I was inclined to believe that she was sitting on a ton of stuff.
After her death and the revelation by her Aunt yesterday I was more inclined to believe what the Aunt said, and now with this latest proof, I want to see how KSH plans to wiggle his way out of this one. What he did to Sulli when she was still alive, stuck in my craw. She got massive hate for her role in Real which was produced by him and his cousin. He got much less flak. He’s here now, highly successful, while she is no more. Not saying he’s responsible for what happened to Sulli, but he could have manned up in both instances and done more to protect these women from a rage inflicted public.

With this new accusation from a new family member, her aunt says they have lots of evidence which is completely unsurprising if they indeed dated for 6 years (!!) I can’t imagine how many revealing text messages and photos there are if this is true (and not the tame type KSR posted). GaSeYeon is known to be a trashy YouTuber who loves drama, so she’ll drag out the evidence reveal potential but if it’s there, it will come out soon. GM hitting back almost immediately to claim *none* of it is true is tripping me because they are so getting trampled on if they are lying. Literally GSY claimed theres a lot of evidence. Yeah, I read all of that about them and more, this is why I’m a sceptic about them.
But I read aunt went to them because others journalists refused to write about KSH, so who knows, there’s a possibility they’re telling the truth.
They said they have a photos of KSR and KSH. For me to believe them they need to reveal at least one photo, they need to prove their words by anything.
No matter if they will do it in the court or on youtube channel, I will wait for at least one evidence before making conclusions. Can’t say it for others people though, but it’s on them.
