C-actress Huang Yang Tian Tian Ignites Scrutiny and Government Investigation into Father After Wearing Three Hundred Thousand Dollar Earrings at Birthday Celebration
Talk about self-owning and likely shooting herself in the foot, and maybe her entire family as well. Young C-actress Huang Yang Tian Tian recently celebrated her 18th birthday and held a lavish party to commemorate her coming-of-age, which is great and all but what she wore incited C-netizen scrutiny and criticism. She wore a pair of USD $320,000 Graff diamond and emerald earrings and a dress worth thousands of dollars as well for her big day. She said the earrings belonged to her mom and C-netizens noted that her father was formerly a government official in Ya’an in Sichuan Province and could not have made that type of income to afford such jewelry. Netizens dug into her past and discovered her parents also own a multi-million dollar home and even more expensive jewelry. The speculation is that her dad used his government position after the destructive Sichuan earthquake to embezzle/siphon/bribe money from issuing approvals in the reconstruction process. The government is reportedly now investigating the dad, who quit his government job in 2018 to run Huang Yang Tian Tian’s career and set up her actress office. The family has stated that the Graff and other jewelries were fakes and will fully cooperate in any investigation.

Yeah really stupid of her, though the dress should not be much of an issue as it isn’t that expensive. Anyway the extravagant earrings made her look old, she should have went with a fresher looking style.
Well… another one
Just wondering why Koala didn’t post about Liu Shi Shi and Nicky Wu’s divorce
Wow they’re finally divorced? Liu shishi deserve better anyway
@Sunshine
Where did you hear that LSS & NW divorce? Are you sure about that? That’s too bad. I hope it’s not true. Thanks.
@Sunshine
Hi. Where did you hear this news? Are you sure that they are divorced? I hope it’s not true. Thanks.
The years of Mainland Chinese showing off wealth online is no longer encouraged. Being humble is the new message.
A good lesson. If the accusations turned out to be true she paid a heavy price to learn that. Anyway, she made her 18th birthday memorable undoubtedly.
If there is really corruption operating involving her dad during reconstruction process in aftermath of earthquake…I will just say Karma.. I wonder if the investigation will be thorough?
@HL Yeah I am also a karma believer. Regarding the investigation I also hope it would reveal the truth though I know nothing about China’s judiciary system (I am neither Chinese nor from that region). Taking advantage of other people’s misery is just… idk horribly disgusting and to make it worse people of your own country. Unfortunately I have seen officials/politicans with high status getting away with corruption (even in EU or US) many times. Lets hope justice would be served.
I think being discreet about your wealth when your position doesn’t match is pretty prevalent everywhere? Colleagues will gossip if an admin assistant comes to work dressed head to toe in luxury items, but no one will bat an eye if a director does that. People who aren’t rich enough to hire bodyguards and stay in luxury accommodations also tend to dress humbly when they travel to cities known to have many pickpockets or robbers.
You are right. But such actions by celebrities who are under spotlight
is equal to asking for trouble. After all they are being watched/followed by higher number of people and their mistakes/misdeeds cause a huger backlash. Even if her father is innocent, her craving for showoff has led to a disaster in addition to her family’s and her reputation being tainted.
All comments have disappeared…wonder why?
lol those earrings not even pretty OR doesnt look fit with her or her look at all…
If the jewelry were knock-offs – it’s pretty cringe for someone in the public eye! But how would they explain the home?
