Modern Romance C-drama Dazzling Commences Filming May 22nd with Leads Guan Xiao Tong and Li Yun Rui
So at least the female lead casting carousel went fast this time rather than dragging on for weeks into months. Filming has commenced for the modern romance C-drama Dazzling and the leads will be Guan Xiao Tong and Li Yun Rui. He’s been linked to the project for weeks but she became the unexpected female lead pick after the production first chose Sun Zhenni and then moved to her. There was talk last week that the female lead would be neither of them and instead would be Zhang Ruo Nan. I don’t know the machinations behind the scenes that decided on the final pick but filming has started so like it or not these are the leads and this is expected to be a high profile quality prestige type of drama.
There are pics uploaded on(mydramalist.com) of them filming. He dyed his hair blond for the role and I almost did not recognize him.
I just realized the director is Mao Deshu. I love his style from WIFTY. Excited to check this out.
Guan Xiao Tong never had any chemistry with her co star, romance with her in it bound to fail.
I honestly don’t understand the appeal for GXT.
However, I saw some spunk in Sun Zhen Ni.
They need to give these up and comers more of a break… give them a chance to shine!
Too bad! I was gonna take a look for LYR’s sake. Mostly will be a dud, like most of the modern C dramas.
I wish they had chosen another FL. The ML has good momentum at the moment. Hope it works out for him but I’m not optimistic. The FL has no charisma in my view.

I feel like now that she has broken up with Luohan, she will have a better chemistry with her co stars and I think she is a good actress.
Can’t find info about what this drama is about. With all this publicity – the drama better live up to the hype that “it’s so good that Guan Xiao Tong asked for/snatched the role” ….though I feel like it is more likely that the production actively courted her.
