iQiyi Xianxia C-drama Feud with Bai Lu and Zeng Shun Xi Premieres to Strong Viewership But Polarizing Reviews
Just like the two lead characters in the just premiered xianxia C-drama Feud have an ultimate immortal love/hate relationship, the response to the drama mirrors that as well. The iQiyi drama starring Bai Lu and Zeng Shun Xi aired over the weekend honestly all those promos showing the two trying to kill each other and/or make out angrily is all better than the actual narrative and plot. It basically boils down to two immortals trying to pass time through human world trials and tribulations, except he’s logical and follows the rules and she’s self-absorbed and thinks she can break any rule she doesn’t like. And they someone “love” each other until it turns to hate (from her) and perplexed enduring (from him). I don’t like any single character in this drama and find their personalities and actions all so exhausting and self-righteous, that producer Yu Zheng claimed this drama had a better script that K-drama Goblin elevates his trolling to new levels of inanity. With that said, the drama is bring in the views and definitely garners commentary, fans of Bai Lu are going overboard praising the drama and her performance while naysayers find the whole drama yet another copy paste of xianxia tropes and this time with even more annoying characters. Of Bai Lu’s recent spate of xianxia C-dramas, I’d rank it Till the End of the Moon, Feud, and last Moonlight Mystique, but the best remains The Legends from her earlier days.
I also dont really like the script. Im quite sad because I was so excited for this pairing when I first heard about it…
The Legends days I miss it so bad even tho script ruined the whole novel so many times.Scripts are quite bad that I dont get how any sincere fan try so hard to make everyone believe acting is unbelievable good lol
Once a time I commented on skirt of a dress Bai Lu wore on twitter and her fans were mad about it. I didnt even made the comment on her but the stylist who picked it or picking it but not redoing some parts to compliment her body shape…

On the contrary, I find myself loving Joseph Zheng in his white wig, he looks manly and distinguished. I love his commanding aura, his fierceness and his devotion to his love. Looking good!
And I thought Li Yunrui had silver hair as opposed to white hair. And started a newer trend of silver haired MLs. LOL!

Without seeing the drama here yet another article. This xianxia is totally different from others. And the way plot unfolds is really good. The female lead or male lead both are right in their perspective. The female lead isn’t self absorbed for sure. Regarding Bailu, she really performed well the variations in her character which makes ppl take hint at the plot. This isn’t the same route xianxia and it broke 9500 heat too.
Typical haters are gonna say something. Without trying anything,ppl can say anything that doesn’t mean the drama is worst
Different people have different views. For me, Feud is different with other Xianxias…I didn’t mean totally different. Most of the Xianxias basic plot is the same.
Feud is not only focusing Demons and Lords fighting. And then this is not in too weak female character or too weak male character and suddenly got power and stronger…Not in Too much Green flag or Red flag…Feud is going with flow…That is the main thing I like it..CGI is not too flashy..Nothing is perfect. Feud team fighting💪

Like others have said, this Xianxia has a very different plot from the usual trope and I’m enjoying it immensely. Bai Lu and Joseph Zheng brought their A game to this drama – their performance is captivating. One thing I like most about this drama is the unpredictability of the plot, you really don’t know what to expect in the next scene. I’m intrigued and can see why Yu Zheng boasted about the plot. The one thing that does bore me are the side characters. I wish they would skip the parts with the second male and second female lead. I don’t see why it’s necessary to add their arc to the drama.
I love chinese drama with BAILU as the FL, the ML is also amazing. They are good pair indeed!whatever the plot is, watching it makes me relieve of some heavy thoughts and making me buy time to stress out. I see besuty in every masterpiece. Thanks for this milestone.
