iQiyi Period C-drama A Dream Within a Dream with Li Yi Tong and Liu Yu Ning Gets Distribution License and Scheduled for End of Month June Release
I don’t know whether to be happy or not for C-actor Liu Yu Ning who will now have three back-to-back dramas within a span of two months. The Prisoner of Beauty came out in early May, followed by part 2 of Eternal Brotherhood at the end of that month, and now word is that A Dream Within a Dream is scheduled for end of June so in two weeks on June 28th. Dream just got its distribution license this week and reportedly test views with brand sponsors went well and iQiyi is pleased with the quality and thinks it has a hit on its hands and wants to piggyback on Liu Yu Ning’s current hot buzz thanks to TPoB. The female lead of Dream is Li Yi Tong who is always so unremarkable to me, neither bad nor good but just serviceable. But if the story is good and the execution strong I’m totally excited to have another drama to potentially to get hooked on.
This looks really interesting. And after really loving TPOB and enjoying seeing Liu Nu Ying for the first, I am looking forward to this.
I am currently watching “Legally Romance” with Zong Zu’er and I am absolutely loving it.
Liu Yu Ning as a singer, I have heard many of his songs… I always wonder if he would be asked to become a actor one day. Now that he is a actor…I have not finished watching a single of his lead dramas. But I do try and often take a break and somehow, never pick it up again. All the dramas are still in my hard drive. I enjoy his singing but as a actor…I am not warming up to it. But his appearance does not bother me, just his acting lack something…
He is okay. I feel he does well as a villain like the drama heroes and his role in the ballad drama he did but as a main lead it seems off. Not sure what it is but his main lead status seems forced maybe it is his height… He is so tall like a statue that they feel compelled to keep him as a main lead. But he has been blessed with some success so hopefully he improves more overtime but till now I just don’t feel he is right for male leads right now. It is what it is.🤷🏻♀️

I’ve never watched any of LYN’s dramas.
I’ve been lurking around and see that people on this site do not like Liu Yu Ning..while on others they seem to praise him so i’m quite surprised. Anyways I guess un-popular opinion but I enjoyed his acting in Prisoner of Beauty. He never caught my eye before but after seeing him as Wei Shao I find him very charming. Can’t wait to see this new drama, hopefully it will fill the void left by POB. If only it was Song Zuer as the lead but Li Yitong is fine as well.
I really like him. But I can’t believe I watched him 3 times in a spanned of 8 months… LMAO… And add a variety show to his name with Gong Jun . that’s just too much release.
