A new C-drama was announced this week and it’s the just started filming iQiyi period investigative drama Shadow Punisher(魅影神捕 Mei Ying Shen Bu). There is alignment from both C-netizens who dislike the Chinese title and I-fans who don’t like the English title, lol. The Chinese title feels too showy for what should be a more serious drama and the English title makes it sound like a B-grade superhero wannabee show. The title aside, the leads are Luo Yun Xi, Fang Yi Lun, Shen Yu Jie, and He Hong Shan, and the drama has the rather unusual listing of the second male lead before the first female lead but it’s not a dual male lead drama. I’ll weigh in on the drama after seeing the first trailer to get a better vibe for whether it interests me.
