So the premiere of this drama totally flew under my radar, both from it not being widely promoted it seems and because I was busy with work and travels. But now I have more episodes of Shadow Punisher to binge if this one turns out good and I’m definitely keen to check out because it reminds me of an underrated … Continue reading →
I like how C-actor Luo Yun Xi toggles effortlessly between modern and period dramas despite being better known for his period works but he still makes the effort to vary his output. Youku has just air dropped his new modern police thriller on deck that finished filming called The Truth Within (剥茧 Bo Jian which means to cut the callous) … Continue reading →
So normally when there is a showdown of two or even three big name dramas there is a clear (or clear-ish) winner but this time it seems it’s going to be who did just a liiiiiiitle bit better. Last month in the end of October 2025 saw the release of three big male lead led period C-dramas – first came … Continue reading →
It’s artistic flair time! The xianxia C-drama Whispers of Fate premiered today Friday October 24th and this drama is vying with Moonlight Mystique which premiered the beginning of the year for most visually excessive drama. The drama is headlined by Luo Yun Xi and it’s a true male lead solo top billed drama, I can’t even tell which of the … Continue reading →
The October 2025 slate of C-dramas is off to a great start but there is still half the month remaining and I fully expect at least 2-3 more premieres to arrive. One of them being rumored to drop towards the end of October is Whispers of Fate (水龙吟 Shui Long Yin) starring Luo Yun Xi as he continues his popular … Continue reading →
A new C-drama was announced this week and it’s the just started filming iQiyi period investigative drama Shadow Punisher(魅影神捕 Mei Ying Shen Bu). There is alignment from both C-netizens who dislike the Chinese title and I-fans who don’t like the English title, lol. The Chinese title feels too showy for what should be a more serious drama and the English … Continue reading →
Now that the overly elaborate costumed xianxia C-drama Moonlight Mystique is done airing, it’s time for it’s equally ornate cousin Shui Long Ying to start readying for it’s arrival down the road. The drama starring Luo Yun Xi has been done filming for quite some time but hasn’t been rumored yet among the industry insiders for a definitive airing date, … Continue reading →
There is a period C-drama in development titled Hua Zui Man Tang 花醉满堂 or Drunk Flowers Full Pavilion, and I’ve seen the novel machine translated to Drunk House lol. It was reportedly to star Luo Yun Xi and Yu Shu Xin and was to start production soon, but this week there was a melon that the male lead is Lin … Continue reading →
Another C-drama is slated to kick off filming in the next few weeks and the leads are set. The Youku modern crime C-drama 锁证者 (best translated as Evidence Witness) will star Luo Yun Xi and Zheng Hehuizi and will reportedly have an overseas location shoot in Thailand as well as filming on set in China. This is a solid casting … Continue reading →
So I probably will end up skipping Follow Your Heart, and initially it was due to logistics and now due to feedback. I was super addicted to The Double and only had bandwidth for that drama and was planning on watching Follow Your Heart after, but then when The Double ended I heard that Follow Your Heart wasn’t really interesting. … Continue reading →
I’ve been exposed to too many C-drama unannounced air drops I’m just glad a streaming C-drama isn’t a giant elephant image that dropped on us announced lol. Air drops also don’t mean the drama is sucky and the platform wants to just squirrel it away though sometimes that is the case, it really depends and some reasons are due to … Continue reading →
This was a fast moving averted scandal for C-actor Luo Yun Xi and can be a useful example of how to respond to netizen criticism. This week Luo Yun Xi was surrounded by fans and paparazzi as he was leaving the airport and his team led him to a car that was mistaken for the company vehicle. As they got … Continue reading →
So I’ve been amazed at how male lead Luo Yun Xi has looked in all the BTS filming pictures of him in one ostentatious costume after another for the xianxia C-drama Shui Long Yin. But now that the filming has wrapped and the production has released the first set of official character posters and BTS filming preview, I gotta say … Continue reading →
