So the premiere of this drama totally flew under my radar, both from it not being widely promoted it seems and because I was busy with work and travels. But now I have more episodes of Shadow Punisher to binge if this one turns out good and I’m definitely keen to check out because it reminds me of an underrated … Continue reading →
May 2026 has been off to an uneventful start, the only new drama arrival with A Splendid Match with Ren Min and Ci Sha reportedly a splendid bore. But we have a new drama to look forward to as this week sees the arrival of Zhan Zhao Adventures (雨霖铃 Yu Lin Ling) on Youku streaming, starring Yang Yang, Zhang Ruo … Continue reading →
It’s artistic flair time! The xianxia C-drama Whispers of Fate premiered today Friday October 24th and this drama is vying with Moonlight Mystique which premiered the beginning of the year for most visually excessive drama. The drama is headlined by Luo Yun Xi and it’s a true male lead solo top billed drama, I can’t even tell which of the … Continue reading →
A new C-drama was announced this week and it’s the just started filming iQiyi period investigative drama Shadow Punisher(魅影神捕 Mei Ying Shen Bu). There is alignment from both C-netizens who dislike the Chinese title and I-fans who don’t like the English title, lol. The Chinese title feels too showy for what should be a more serious drama and the English … Continue reading →

Now that the overly elaborate costumed xianxia C-drama Moonlight Mystique is done airing, it’s time for it’s equally ornate cousin Shui Long Ying to start readying for it’s arrival down the road. The drama starring Luo Yun Xi has been done filming for quite some time but hasn’t been rumored yet among the industry insiders for a definitive airing date, … Continue reading →
So there are fewer and fewer S+ budget C-dramas these days as it’s like putting all your chips on black or red in one roulette turn. Investors prefer to spread and risk and use the same amount to invest in 3 A level dramas which if two succeeds and one tanks will still bring in more returns. So a lot … Continue reading →
So I’ve been amazed at how male lead Luo Yun Xi has looked in all the BTS filming pictures of him in one ostentatious costume after another for the xianxia C-drama Shui Long Yin. But now that the filming has wrapped and the production has released the first set of official character posters and BTS filming preview, I gotta say … Continue reading →
So this may be worse than the blind leading the blind, it’s sharpshooter leading two blind people lol. A new romance period C-drama is being cast 怎敌她千娇百媚 which is called How to Defeat the Refined Her but the literal title translates to How to Resist Her Thousand Charms and Hundred Flirtations. Basically the female lead is a total femme fatale/goddess … Continue reading →
Well I’m certainly happy with this casting lol. A new C-drama will start filming next month in April and the leads are Jing Tian and Alen Fang (Fang Yi Lun) adapted from the novel The Brocaded Tale of The Girl Si (似锦 Si Jin). Jing Tian drops chemistry with every one of her male leads and I’m so thankful Alen’s … Continue reading →
