I like how C-actor Luo Yun Xi toggles effortlessly between modern and period dramas despite being better known for his period works but he still makes the effort to vary his output. Youku has just air dropped his new modern police thriller on deck that finished filming called The Truth Within (剥茧 Bo Jian which means to cut the callous) where he plays a forensic medical examiner with female lead Liu Ya Se and a group of familiar face veterans and supporting actors. This is a total pivot from his last drama the ornate xianxia period piece Whispers of Fate that aired two months ago but felt comparatively under the radar.
