Jeon Ji Hyun and Ji Chang Wook Start Filming Fantasy Romance jTBC K-drama Human x Gumiho with Large Supporting Cast — 24 Comments

  1. Ji Changwook is convincing in action; I particularly liked his performance in The Worst of Evil. But I’m still not sure about him as a lead in a romantic drama.

    • At this point you don’t like anything so go & see your chinese or taiwanese or whatever they are. Korean dramas remain superior.

      • Aw, both agree that South Korea produces works of artistic merit.๐Ÿ˜น

China and Japan score lower. I prefer Chinese dramas though. In Japan, we stand out more in the film industry.

My list includes Chinese actors who have impressed me more than Ji Changwook in the romance genre. Of course, Iโ€™ll keep watching them. LOL. As for the Taiwanese, Iโ€™m just starting to explore their productions. For now, thereโ€™s one series I like: Had I Not Seen The Sun. If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know.

      • @Hyun Bi, I limit myself to appreciating those who show remarkable potential and skills. Defending and blindly following an artist is not my thing. LOL. There are better actresses/actors than Ji Chang Wook in his country, with wider range and versatility across genres.

He is particularly fine in action.

      • Finishing watching The Manipulated, I’ve become more convinced that Ji Changwook is made for action.

      • @Shayeli, I stay away from the recent Taiwanese dramas and modern films mostly because the messages tend to be very dark, more pessimistic, and negative while those producers and film makers are experimenting with new ideas and creativities. I watch dramas and films to wind down from work. Heck to put myself back to stress! lol

    • Action actor is a talent too! Some just don’t look like they have grit to punch or take punches. lol. Among many Asian actors, JCW and Lee Joon-gi consistently looked very convincing in action.

  2. Well, well. I think it’s time to leave this site again. Most of my comments aren’t approved and I find it strange considering that those posted by other users containing profanity, defamation and threats are still present. I can’t be bothered with trolls and stalkers, in fact, they’re part of the comedic element. LOL. But I don’t see the point in participating in a forum where my sensible opinions aren’t welcome. It’s been like this for days.

    • It depends on whether you commented on any of Koala’s favs actors.
Even if there was respect or a constructive approach, assume that’s why.

      • Didn’t you yourself write in the last SZE article that the comments were neutral? lol

By neutral I meant the contrast between those who either they like or hate on someone o something. Neutral for me is like you don’t need to be a fan to recognize a good performance for example. They are opinions yes but the ones that are not glazing or hating tend to leave more details

    • It happened to a lot of my comments too, specifically those engaging in heated debate. Some of those comments appeared many days later when most visitors already moved on to other blogs, and others just never showed up. lol.

Still, this site is censored less than other forums such as Cdrama subreddit.

TBH, I don’t care that much if anyone reads my comment or not. I enjoy meaningful discussions coming from others’ perspectives but laugh at delirious exchanges. The former is entertaining and the latter is hilarious. lol. But censorship is more of an issue to me.

      • If no one reads or sees them, there’s no way to start a discussion and interesting threads can’t be continued either. Most users here tend to take sides so it’s refreshing to read neutral perspectives like the ones @shayeli was offering. @cahill is another user who hasn’t visited this site in a while. She also had interesting comments. Cdrama subreddit censored? No way, I constantly see all kinds of nasty comments.

      • Cdrama subreddit only let nasty comments on certain actors flow without moderation. The moderators themselves are fans of certain other actors about whom I rarely read negative comments. lol

For me, no one is objective and neutral. Everyone has subjective perspectives and expresses personal opinions. Communication isn’t a rocket science that has standards to follow. We just need to tolerate and respect as long as no name calling is initiated. Once name calling is triggered, there’s no end cuz you can’t blame those who are attacked to fight back with harsh words. Being kind with nice words isn’t an indicator of being neutral and objective. lol

Per what I said above, I’d never report any trolls to the site manager or self-appointed moderators LOL as @Shayeli suggested. It’s about free speech. We just have to learn to be tolerant cuz there’s no risk of physical violence involved either. If one can’t tolerate vitriol from cyber strangers, she may as well just get offline. lol

      • I think the problem was the hiding of comments not the trolls who are joke BTW. I don’t see the point in participating in blogs you can’t “comment” lol

      • Didn’t you yourself write in the last SZE article that the comments were neutral? Lol

By neutral I meant the contrast between those who only can like or hate on someone/something neutral for me is like you don’t need to be a fan to recognize a good performance

They are all opinions yes but the ones that are not glazing or hating tend to leave more details

If objectivity doesn’t exist and it ultimately comes down to personal taste then terms like overrated shouldn’t exist either since every opinion is personal and everyone has different experiences, right? Unless it’s just a battle over who’s more right lol like what makes us think that people who like things we don’t like are crazy or have bad taste? lol it’s something that happens quite often around here

      • Five days later and my comments still haven’t appeared.๐Ÿ˜‚

@Rayo, yes. I like exchanging comments and learning about different POV. I find it hard not to write my ideas after reading a post or an opinion. LOL. Not a big deal though, Iโ€™ve already found sites in Japanese, my native language.

@Somebody. Racism is definitely something I’d always report. Although itโ€™s also fun for me to report trolls just to see how they react during their seething and coping phase. They go nutty when their efforts are removed. LOL! If we can tolerate it, then there would be no reason to reply, especially when it comes to our faves.

      • @Somebody, since you asked me about Koala’s email, I thought you were going to mention her about Samanta’s circus.๐Ÿ˜†

  3. I don’t like Gumiho stories, in fact I don’t like interspecies romances. In anime it doesn’t sound bad but I don’t know why it’s hard for me to open up in live actions.

  4. Definitely believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people think about worries that they just don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
