Tang Yan Criticized by C-netizens for Trying to Take Center Spot at Tiffany Event Alongside Zhang Zi Yi and Edging Out Zhang Ruo Yun — 29 Comments

  1. And in reality, ZZY is pissed because when TY stands next to her, her age and her very obvious plastic surgery to try and look younger, becomes very very obvious.

    Nobody cares about ZRY lol

    • God forgive women for aging naturally. God also forgive them if they undergo surgery or other processes to avoid it, although criticism still falls on them hahaha. Tang Yan is a mediocre actress most of the time. And given the trend of entertainment everywhere, she will also try to look younger as the years go by.

      • I saw some photos of her from a couple of years ago where she looked (to me) surprisingly haggard. In your video she largely looks like herself, though her face is quite full and round. I wonder if she has been getting filler, and this time she just went overboard, or her injector didn’t accurately account for how much the filler would continue to swell and expand. I certainly didn’t recognize her at all at the Tiffany event.

In any case, it’s tough to be an older woman in the public eye. You’re damned if you do (plastic surgery), and you’re damned if you don’t.

      • Why? She looked beautiful to me at the event though. lol

Would you expect someone to say the same thing to you when you’re at her age? lol again. Perhaps you do! lol

      • @Somebody. There’s nothing wrong with embracing your age with pride. Especially a talent like hers. The video I attached was to point out that she hasn’t gone under the knife as some have suggested, she looked attractive five days ago and she still does. Lol. But let’s not pretend she looks better now than she did in her 20s or 30s. Leave those delusions to men.

  2. Oh, Yuqi from I-dle. Seeing her in this photo reminded me that it’s been a while since I’ve checked out any new K-pop releases.

  3. Zhang Ziyi is one of the Four Dan actresses alongside Zhao Wei, Zhou Xun, and Xu Jinglei.

They are all reasonably good at acting, but Zhang Ziyi is the one that fans of idol actors detest the most due to her critical comments towards them in the past. Lmao. Perhaps she was right since now people complain about the same flaws she pointed out in the industry.🤣

  4. Haha…One comment pointed out two hot actors in the photo. I honestly didn’t recognize them at all. I should say, they somehow looked too unattractive to catch my eyes in the photo. lol

I’m not that interested in TY’s gossips. She’s a pedestrian actress anyhow. But rifts with ZZY? Interesting!

      • I’m gonna say the modern styling didn’t look flattering on LYR or WXY. They might as well just live in my fantasy of period costume. lol.

      • @Somebody, the layers of clothing they wear in hanfu give their thin bodies more balance, which is why there’s a contrast in modern styling. LOL. But those faces are still on point to me 🙂

      • he looks fine as well to me
they act as if their faces are bent, punctured and whatnot

      • I honestly think K actors have better styling artists for public events. You once mentioned that you preferred Chinese looks. While I don’t disagree that Chinese actors may have better visuals, their styling in real life oftentimes did not highlight their merits, but rather made them look less appealing than in reels. lol

      • @Somebody. It’s something that would have to witness with my own eyes because I’ve seen K-celebs in real life and they haven’t looked as good as in the videos/pics later published. Chinese artists tend to survive the Getty Images curse the most. LOL. For this event, I think the women looked good in particular.

I also don’t like the fashion sense of South Koreans when they’re on the red carpet.😅

      • Hmmmm, we might have been talking about different public events with regard to K celebs. Lee Jae Wook in 2025 Paris Fashion week looked smexy, and Ahn Hyo Seop in the recent Oscar ceremony was gorgeous. lol.

Chinese actors seemed to have trouble looking tailored fit, imo.

      • @Somebody. Oh, I see. It’s difficult to establish a head-to-body ratio when they’re too thin. I also don’t think the cut of their pants and suit jackets helps to disguises it. They need more fabric volume (which is what makes them look more balanced in period settings). Chinese actresses fare much better in this modern styles regard.

There were videos of Yan An circulating on social media and people were commenting that it’s rare to see a Chinese idol/actor with noticeable bulk. LOL.

      • As someone of Korean descent, I actually prefer the looks of Chinese celebrities or even those influencers in XHS, lol. I find their facial features much more harmonious and diverse, quite a few notable with a crazy bone structure. It’s also clear that they haven’t had plastic surgery after plastic surgery, at least not in their most prominent or well-known visuals, unlike ours lol. I’d better stop here. I don’t want to sound like I’m betraying my homeland.

But in fact it’s hard not to notice how incredibly thin they are when they’re not wearing period clothing.

      • We certainly have our eye candies @somebody.🤭 But I’ve always been a sucker for delicate or angular features (my luv wxy) and that’s something the Chinese in the biz excel at. I drop most of the cdramas I do play but I go back to some scenes just for the visuals lol e.g. Zhu Yi Ran in the drowsy Generation to Generation.

  5. I feel like there’s a real obsession with C-position when it comes to older actresses. I mean, what Yang Mi did at Weibo Night is still very recent and continues to generate buzz. At this point, the discussion around her isn’t even about an attempt anymore, a lot of people already see it as outright “stealing” the spot. People are still talking about her stealing the C-position from Xin Zhilei and displacing Xiao Zhan. It’s honestly become one of those moments that feels like it’ll never be forgotten, especially with the lip-reading of the exchange between Ni Ni and Xin Zhilei seemingly confirming that the seating arrangement was suddenly changed.

At this point, Yang Mi and even Tang Yan are probably always going to be associated with this level of pettiness, and I really don’t get the obsession to be honest 😆
