Park Bo Gum and Shin Ye Eun in Talks for K-drama Adaptation of Chinese Time Traveling Novel Night Wanderer
So if the K-drama version does get made this it may fill in some of the disappointment still lingering over the inability to air the completed C-drama Night Wanderer. This week K-ent is reporting that Park Bo Gum and Shin Ye Eun are in talks for the K-drama adaptation of the source C-novel, which was adapted back in 2021 into the C-drama starring Ni Ni and Deng Lung. His cancellation for tax evasion has left this drama unable to air, and while other dramas have used face swap technology and a new lead to replace a cancelled lead and release dramas this one reportedly did so as well with new lead Fu Xing Bo but the end product still has not been released. Even if it does it will still look off but now with a potential K-version the story of a modern day forensic scientist and a 1930’s lawyer meeting through space and time in their shared apartment each night could finally hit the screens.
I hope PBG picked a really good project this time. I like his charisma so much in Record of Youth although he did not have chemistry with the female lead. Good Boy is a huge disappointment with frustrating narratives thanks to bad scripting. Kdrama is really good at thrillers and investigative genre, way way better than the Chinese counterparts. Who will be the PD?
PBG is a great actor but his drama picks seem to be a bit random, they can be amazing but they can also be ‘meh’. Hope this one has good writing for him!
