Hunan TV Period Drama Have It All Casts Meng Zi Yi and Ao Rui Peng as Leads with Filming Slated for Summer 2026 Start
In the roulette of C-drama casting there seems like infinite lead pairings and yet it’s always the same dozen or so names making for a more finite set of combos. Meng Zi Yi has already lined up her next drama once she finishes filming The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage with Dylan Wang. She’s been confirmed for Hunan TV period drama Have it All (Chinese title 一手摘星一手捶地 which means one hand plucking star and one hand pounding the ground) and her male lead is who I call Bizarro Dylan Ao Rui Peng. Because Dylan is so distinctive looking that every time I see Ao Rui Peng I just think similar but every feature is just a wee bite off. Anyhoo, Have it All is about a girl mistaken for a princess and gets caught up in political intrigue and turns out she is the long lost princess, but of course haha. Looks like Meng Zi Yi is firmly parked in period drama land and I hope this hard push to make her firmly a top A-lister works out for the production teams that keep casting her.

She is a really poor actress and isn’t improving at all.
Are we going to get a month with a Meng Ziyi drama airing at the same time as another Meng Ziyi drama, like that time with Cheng Lei? At least it’s not another transmigration drama? I doubt this push will get her to A list, but it gives her visibility and stable work in an industry that isn’t as friendly to artists over 30 unless they are in the 10% of the most talented.
I like the both of them well-enough, though they haven’t quite wowed me. But I worry about the quality of the drama and actors having so many back to back dramas. The directors likely have to rush to get the shots before the actors have to hop onto another project, and the actors probably don’t have much time to dub their own work.
Sorry, but I don’t understand what viewers and casting directors see in her. I can’t be the only one who thinks her face is so artificial-looking, it’s distracting, right? Especially in a costume drama.
While cosmetic work is common in the entertainment industry, she has done too much to her face and it shows.
I really don’t get the hype surrounding this actress. And yeah I think Blossom is overrated. It was interesting enough when it started but I think it was mainly carried by the ML and FL face was distracting especially in a period drama.

She is not going to blow up. Chinese also don’t like her all that much which is why all that money is being pushed into her projects. But she can’t act and you can’t becoming a real star even in China without that.
Idk one day the capital will learn you can’t make stars with money.
She has like half a dozen dramas either waiting to drop or currently filming – whoever is backing her is throwing a lot of money in her career. Too bad she’s such a terrible actress…I don’t get it.
